No, when it comes to appearance I'm rating the beer not the label, however, when it comes to purchases, if the label sucks I'll pass.

    No.

I look for whether the beer is the appropriate color/clarity appropriate for the style, and whether it keeps a nice head or not.

No. Labels might influence some unplanned purchases at the store. But ratings? Never.

It influences my opinion of the brewery but never the beer itself.

Nope, however I will note whether or not I like the label art from time to time in my written review. But influence the score itself....never.

In the context of a review, no. However, a good label will often contribute to my enjoyment of the beer experience.

Only in the sense if it's too busy I may overlook it. If I have to scour the label to find out what style it is, what the APV is and dating, I might pass on it. I prefer clean labels, all the info right up front, easy to read. Doesn't effect how I like or rate the beer, mainly just whether it draws my interest while shopping.

I'll take on the entire site if that's what it comes to. YES, the label will sometimes minorly affect my score. And here's my explanation:
-The artwork, just like the beer itself, does set an expectation and (hopefully) gets me excited to drink what's inside.
-Nowhere does it say on the beer review guidelines here that artwork should not be incorporated into the score. You're all welcome to prove me wrong, but I still won't care because...
-Appearance is 6% of the score. That's it. Even if I bump it up or down an entire point (I do not, keep reading) it would have very little influence on the overall score.
-Finally, I usually use the artwork only to decide between rounding up or down .25 points when the beer itself is in between the two scores. Rarely, when a really badass label comes along I'll give it an extra .25 entirely. I'll never deduct .25 for bad artwork.

    Come at me BA's!

No, not appearance. However, I do include the label as part of the Taste rating. Some labels are in really poor taste!

It won't affect the actual score that we give the beer, but we'll certainly comment on it if it's particularly well done. Moreover, if we've not previously heard of the beer we're more likely to purchase something new if it has a label that makes us chuckle or smile or what have you.

No influence on the rating, but definitely was a factor in deciding to purchase:

I think branding is incredibly important because I work the production/retail side of beer. I know from my retail experience that branding might not influence "professional" beer drinkers but to the layperson or the person with little experience picking out a beer is a very visual experience.
