I understand that you like the brewery's beers to do the talking, but quite a few in my local area are creating pretty elaborate tasting rooms with well trained serving staff. Would this justify a request to be reviewable?

Are they selling beer for consumption on-premise or to go?

This is similar enough to the question I was going to ask. Several of the breweries I saw have large tap rooms and you can drink on premise, but are listed as brewery only. Does that mean they should be changed? And is the reason for not being able to rate breweries based on not being able to drink there?

Like @Todd mentioned in his post above, if they are selling for consumption on premises or beer to go, then I would submit a Change of Information for the brewery and request that the 'Bar' category be added. I've done it a couple of times, and under the above circumstances, I think it's legit to do so because a change is a benefit to our members here to make everyone aware of the quality of the brewery's beers, to the expansion of the BA brewery database info, and to the brewery to have ratings and reviews added (assuming they make good beer).

If you can purchase a beer, sit down, and drink it, it is a 'bar'. Please submit a change request.

If it is a place where you get a 1-2oz sample to help decide what to buy to take home, it is not a 'bar'.

There's a grey area where breweries may only offer 4-5oz sample flights or require you to take a tour to drink on-premise. I tend to call those 'bars' and usually clarify in the notes.
