I wish I had a time machine to go back to before Louis Pasteur was born so that all beers would exhibit some degree of wild character. Although I'd probably die within a year from some sort of infection.

To me sours and big BA stouts are a treat. I drink porters,IPA's, and lagers when I am going to just "drink". That is kind of how I view them. I take departures from them all occasionally with odd styles but those are the ones I find myself going to more often than not. But yes I do love a good sour!

Yes, I would drink Enigma all day and, in fact, some days I do.

I'm a really big fan of sours. Have been into them for a few years now.I still find it funny to see reactions to when someone first tries them. I've had buddies that have been into them for a long while now,and always had them around. I remember liking them but didn't know to much about them. So I explored and had tons of recommendations I'm always a fan of a sour beer, willing to drink them at any time. Maybe just not 3 or 4 in a row. Cheers

I have only had 3-4 sours in my life (mostly at beer festivals). Funny, I enjoyed them, but could only drink one at a time. Plus, I like so many other styles better that I just don't find a reason to buy one.

I like sours but it's hard to drink more than 12 oz at a time so it annoys me that so many come in 750s

my first time trying one, i had anderson valley holy gose. and holy shit, phenomenal! i ended up trying 3-4 more sours that same day. but i definitely second the whole heartburn city. and as a person with growing antacid problems, tums are definitely needed before this endeavor.

I had 3 last night, but had to drive home or I would have had more. Love having a brewery or 2 local that produce real good Sours. I can drink them all night, in fact, they go down easier than a coke, a real danger for me as two of the Sour's last night were over 7% ABV.

Edit: And of all things New Belgium is coming along with their construction, which means more Sours local... oh the humanity... :stuck_out_tongue:

Sure there are sour lovers and I am glad there are so many choices for them now.

    BUT:
There is a misconception that as a beer connoisseur, sours are the pinnacle and the evolution of beer drinkers. This is far from the truth. Certainly sours are something that few start out with and are more of an acquired taste but there are many huge beer fans with great knowledge and experience that do not prefer them. Sour is a taste that many just don't like. If anything I have seen some of the most experienced beer tasters circling back to more subtle beers in this current era of BIG BIG BIG.

    Something for everyone.

Many years ago I was a big fan, nowadays not as much, but still would never turn one down, especially if I've had it before and I liked it, or something new that looks interesting.

    Cheers!
