I love sours, but I lean more towards sours that have a lighter base beer, such as Gose, Berliner,Gueze, and some wilds. I don't care as much for sour Stouts, Oud Bruin, or really any that have a strong balsamic type character. My favorite so far has been Fou Foune, least favorite has been Monks Cafe. I would drink berliners and gose all day/everyday in the summer if there were more available. They are low alcohol and refreshing, which makes them the perfect summer beer.

I don't know if it's a true sour or not but I found one I could knock back several of. Bell's Oarsman. It's a keeper IMO

If you ever had a Sang Royal from Cascade you might say yes, I did.
    And many others they produce.

Overall my favorite style is probably a top notch Lambic or Wild Ale, or a wild saison.

    Cantillon Iris, Fou Foune
    De Garde Beaucoup Desay
Drei Fonteinen Oude Kriek / Gueuze
    Russian River - Supplication
    Boon - Mariage Parfait
    Rodenbach - Caractere Rouge
    Logsdon - Peche and Brett
Crooked Stave - Nightmare on Brett / Surette Reserva Cassis
Le Trou Du Diable Dulcis Succubus
Sante Adairius - Every wild they make

Best stuff in the world for me.

    Hammer meet nail.

    I've had three sours:

    Supplication
    La Folie
    Le Terroir

Enjoyed them all thoroughly while drinking them. However, I rarely seek sours out. One every few months is perfect to me!

Isn't the fad over? I miss seeing them just sitting on shelves.

YES. just YES. BA stouts are getting old really quick. I usually drink IPAs, old ale/BW, or sours. I can honestly say I mostly ingest sours..and yes it is very expensive.

Cascade is going to be a little crazy and likely too much vinegar. I'd suggest a jester king fruited sour.

I'm a huge fan of sours. The only one I can truly say I didn't enjoy was Skull'Ole by 3 Floyds. So acidic that it was like drinking lemon juice. Usually they are so on point!

When I first read that, I saw "I" instead of "we" and was really impressed/worried.

But yeah, sours are awesome. Well done, sir.

When done right, I think they are amazing. JK's are at the top of my list.

Love? ummm....well my first love would be IPAs.
I like to think of Sours as my mistresses, I tend to abuse them on weekends and not get back to them on weekdays.

I tried my first ever sour the other day, and it was a top rated sour. 3 fonteinen golden blend oude gueze. I thought it was terrible. Tasted like champange gone bad. Smelt like wet socks. I actually drain poured it. Sours are definitely not my thing.

Yeah. I've always dug sour things, and I find sour beers to be very refreshing, especially in hot weather

I find myself craving 'tart', but not 'sour', and many sours are 'tart'. The blistering sourness of an upland is something I can handle only once in a while, but the tartness of a Hill Farmstead beer is something I can't get enough of.

I can't say I have ever tasted much acetic acid in Cascade. They are lacto-bombs though!

I have nearly 60 of those in my "cellar". LOVE that beer! :grinning:
