I wish more brewers did metal growlers (or something that won't break as easily). I always think I'm going to break them.

I prefer my 32oz growler. Easy on the wallet (generally) and easier to drink. That being said, I like taking my 64oz to parties. I like passing the jug around with a couple of my buddies.

I do and I don't. I like being able to pour a fresh one out into a glass, I don't like that my open and pour time is more limited.

I like growlers when I have friends over or when we go to a BYOB restaurant. Since my wife tends to like different beer than I do, I'd end up drinking it all, which is a bit much at a sitting. If it's just me, I'd prefer cans or bottles.

I'm trying to figure out how this is a serious question. The 32oz growler is my go-to. It's perfect.

At many small/ new breweries, the only way to take home their beer to enjoy is via the growler. I prefer 32oz over 64oz (wife doesn't drink beer), but when in Rome...keep pouring!

I like 64 oz. growlers but they are a commitment. I have a DIPA from Ellison Brewing in my fridge that's been there for a month. I got it to share with buddies but those plans fell through. I don't want to open a 10% DIPA until I know I can kill it within a few hours of opening it. I can't stand drinking beer from a growler after it has been open for a day.

Crowlers and howlers are the way to go. They have the same benefits that growlers do but a person can reasonably kill 32 oz. in one day compared to 64 oz.

Yes, because I save money. Got a growler of mash and grind for $25. Shoot, 64 ounces of M&G in bottles would cost around $60 dollars. Well that is a lot of 13% barrel aged beer to drink, Im down with it. Same goes for regular IPA's, as long as I am saving money I am down. 64oz of IPA is no problem for me, 64oz of mash and grind took a couple days to finish.

There are some circumstances where growlers are great. For example, this past Christmas my sister in law gave me a growler of a double IPA from one of her local breweries. It made Christmas morning very merry for all of us!

I LOVE growlers - they are perfect for taking to gatherings of people and sharing the joy of fresh beer. When I'm on my own, a growler is just enough for a sitting, and not enough induce ill effects like lethargy and poor decision-making! Long live growlers - they make me smile!

Love growlers. 32 oz. is my preferred size. Fresh beer is best, and there are easy on the wallet.

Love growlers just don't them that often as they need to be consumed fairly quickly. I only have three growlers but I am looking to expand.

I walked into Odell recently with a 32oz swing top growler and got turned down because "the hose wouldn't fit." The growlers there to purchase were $4 (cheap), but a fill of pale ale was $12.

I thought... $16 for two pints, or $9 for a whole six pack... yeah. I proceeded to leave.

I have a 64 and 128 size growler from mancan. I love the actual growlers, great to throw in a suitcase and fill while travling. I use the 64 more than the 128 both have regulators that can be used. I never use it on the 64 but will on the 128 for tale gating. I like the aluminum bodies and the cap has a great seal. I will fill the 64 a couple times a month, the 128 is a lot of beer and don't use it that often. I'm looking for a 32 aluminum body growler like the ones I have

I like using my 32 oz growler. Decent fill prices and some breweries around here only bottle certain beers from time to time.

I can't imagine buying a growler of anything I can get in cans or bottles. I did buy a crowler of Pompeii to take to share at DLD because the container is lighter than a bomber. That's literally the only time I've bought a draught filled option when a regular bottle or can was available.

That being said, I'm glad growlers exist. Back when I was relatively new to craft beer (around 1990) I used to bring growlers of Boulevard Pale Ale back from Kansas City before they bottled their beer.

Just this week I got to try Scorpius Morchella from TG (a fantastic beer, btw) because a friend brought a growler back. I'm swamped at work and there's no way I was going to find time to drive to Decorah.

I have a "growl tap" that allows me to pressurize a growler with CO2...got it for Christmas and haven't used it yet, so you get a pretty good idea how often I buy growlers.

I personally do not enjoy them. I find them inconvenient. I generally drink alone so chugging 64oz of anything is a task. However, I do like half growlers. Especially when the bottle shop here does half price growler fills on Monday, some sweet deals!

anyone know if Crowlers sustain better than Growlers? Obviously we all know cans sustain for a VERY long time and growlers only about 2-3 weeks tops.

Not sure if a Crowler acts more like a glass growler or a normal sealed can.

I don't use my growler as much as I thought I would, but I do enjoy it. Like others have mentioned, comes in handy around the holidays or family gatherings where it can be shared with a group and thus consumed shortly after opening. Although I myself don't mind getting one every now and then and drinking it over the course of 2-3 consecutive days. There are a few shops near me that carry some beers on draft from time to time that I could not find otherwise.
