I was just wondering if anyone goes to this booze store? And what they think of the beer selection.

No but maybe you should check it out and report back

It was good until the Beer Manager recently left....

What happened to the old one? Do they have a new one yet?

I was the old one. Keep going in there though. There's this dude there named Brian who will be taking over with the ordering and costumer relations. He has a good amount of knowledge on the beers and will be the guy to talk to about whales and such. I know jriggins met him but some of you others should check him out. There is almost always something in the back so you gottta talk to him.
I built that beer department from the ground up and I will still be shopping there telling them if they're doing anything wrong or what they can do better. This is for sure a place to check out. But remember, you have to talk to someone if you're looking for the big guns.

Stop in when I am on that side of town. Usually find some solid stuff. Last time I asked a beer questions to the ladies at the registers (only people I could find) one of them made fun of me for asking.

I am rarely on that side of town and would stop there again, but if you have to find someone to ask about the beer be prepared to be mocked.

Damn, sorry that happened to you. If you don't mind my asking, what were you asking for?

If it was dixon n ciders, then damn...just damn. Just ask for the beer manager or a manager if you need help with a specific beer.

There was a case of 2011 Sweetwater festival ales on the floor. This was this past December so the 2012's were also on the floor. I just asked if they knew anything about the those. If they had been sitting on the floor for a year, were they in the back, just came off the truck, just generally interested in the storage condition of those beers since they seemed out of place. I still picked up a couple of them and would stop in any time I was in the area.

I didn't ask about KBS in may or anything like that.

OUCH! Sorry about that. Next time that happens try and get a name off of those ridiculous aprons they are forced to wear. Most of the employees that work the registers are just people there to ring you up and get you out the door. The people working the floor can better assist you. They are not a small store so a lot of the people over look the beer department and focus more on the wine and liquor.

Haha!!! If it's the one on Barret Pkwy, I used to have a frequent shoppers card back in the 90's!!!

I've been to the one on Barrett Parkway a few times. It's pretty cool. One time they saved the last sixer of Lagunitas Sucks for me and had a way cheaper bottle of a beer I wanted at Total Wine. They do have some older bottles/expired IPAs though.

I went in today and they saved me a 6 pack of Founders All Day IPA and Dogfish Head Aprihop. The cashier knew his beer and put me on the list for KBS, and said they'd save some for me if I can't come in right away since I go to school in Tennessee. That was awesome.

I go by both Sherlocks fairly regularly. Sorry that Brad is no longer at the Roswell Rd location- he's a cool guy that has done a great job building the craft beer selection over the past couple years. Both stores have solid selections and are well worth popping in occasionally.

Brad's apparently a Member for 2+ years. Why is there no review of Sherlock's or at least a listing in the directory?

You know what--I may be an idiot.
I apparently completely ignored which regional forum I was in and thought we were talking about Marietta Ohio, where I sometimes find myself and am always on the lookout for good shops in the area.
    My apologies. Carry on.
