Does brewing with (instead of conditioning on) adjuncts affect how well a beer ages?

I'm wondering specifically about 3 Floyd's Cocomungo. Most pastry stouts seem to be past their primes after 1 year. I've noticed that Founders CBS has aged very well for the style and I'm curious if that is due to being less sweet than many pastry stouts or the brewing process. Cocomungo is similar to CBS in terms of being balanced and the 15%+ abv might help as well.

I was considering getting around half a case of Cocomungo and drinking it slowly over a year or two. Is this a good idea or should beers of this style be consumed ASAP?

I'm not familiar with the specific beer you mentioned, but any 15% abv beer should hold up fine for a year. These heavily flavored beers definitely change as all those added flavors fade and meld, but I'd expect a beer that big from a brewery with the history of FFF to be just fine in the bottle for a year or even 2
