Picked up a sixer of hop overboard. Solid brew, especially at the price. But every bottle has homebrew level yeast at the bottom. Not a problem, but unexpected if the brewery doesn't put out the bottle conditioned fact. Second question : if it is bottle conditioned, anyone know the strain? I might want to cultivate it.
They do not bottle condition but they also don't filter. Sometimes toward the end of a bottling run you get a little more sediment in the bottles. -source: Circle rep. I agree, hop overboard is an underappreciated gem. They have recently tweaked the recipe with more late additions and it's quite aromatic and vibrant now.
They've also reclassified it as a session IPA rather than a pale ale. I haven't tried the new recipe, but I really enjoyed the old one.
