I always found it somewhat ironic that Cantillon (and other lambic producers, it seems) offer for sale these incredibly basic tumbler glasses...that erstwhile proper glassware proponents snap up like hotcakes.

I drink all of my beer out of red solo cups.

Proper glassware does enhance the aroma and flavor of beer. There is no need to go overboard about it. A large white or red wineglass is all you need.

I use a Tulip or Snifter. Not totally sure if they enhance the flavor at all, but you're guaranteed to look classy as hell.

I believe the reason is that historically, lambic/gueuze was served in such a vessel. I have one that I got from a friend from Lindemans, and I enjoy drinking Cuvee Rene from it.

I dig the tradition angle. I just found it a bit ironic that folks shell out serious cash (or trade value) for stuff like Fou Foune/Hommage/etc., and are otherwise likely extol the virtues of specially-designed glassware, only to potentially drink said whales from a common (branded) tumbler:slight_smile:

BTW, Cuvee Renee from a tumbler sounds awfully nice!
