I remember this beer making an re-appearance a few years back and then disappearing. I haven't seen a bottle in years until yesterday and it tastes not only old, but meh.

Whats the deal? Is it still around or no longer distributed in the US (again)?

It's definitely available in the US. I'm pretty sure the distributor I work for sells it.

(edit: Just checked the product catalog, and it's listed. Active w/ recent deliveries.)

I have had a bottle or two over the last year but I'm not sure if I bought them or had them with friends. Either way, it seems that it is still around these parts.

I think I had it at Disney World last year. Either at the Irish pub in Downtown Disney, or at the temporary Irish pavilion set up as part of the food and wine festival.

I actually just picked up two four packs (one as a gift for a Guinness lover and one for myself) two days ago just outside of philadelphia. First tried it in a bar in Lancaster, PA about four months ago. I thought it was a bit better at the bar (possibly a bit fresher), but I still thought it was a pretty decent stout nonetheless. This was the first time I've spotted it in a shop in over three years

I can't quite figure out what the bottling date is according to my bottle code. Different websites have given me unclear differences. Mine is L2338GF002 21:52

Either way, tastes like an old stout/thin to me….at least one that is much better consumed fresh. Just suspicious as I haven't seen this anywhere since at least three years ago.

I remember loving this beer when it first got rereleased back however many years ago.

Well, I guess from what I've read on a different thread about the black lager, this would imply December 4, 2012. :astonished:

Many of the BevMos in my area carry 4-packs of it but the best by dates all indicated that the beers had expired in 2012. Still tasted good to me though
I see it included in Guinness variety 12-packs and I've wondered if those are fresher.

The ones distributed in the Caribbean are unbelievably good.

    I miss the stuff...

A local Colorado Springs beer emporium (Downtown Fine Wine & Spirits) had two four-packs left in stock a few months ago. Greg (the German-born owner) helped me track down them down. I drank the last bottle about two weeks ago. And, sadly, I haven't seen any since that purchase, anywhere...

Guinness needs bring this fine, big-beer commercial offering back to the US market...

Food & Wine has Guiness Draught (nitro); been to F&W twice and got it both times. (The only way I will drink it.)
You may have had it at Epcot World Showcase in United Kingdom, not positive as they have been adding better selections in WDW as of late.

I see them all the time in Atlanta. I consume about 4, or 5, 4-packs a year. Great stuff

BevMo had it in Southern CA for St. Patrick's Day. Picked up a four pack for $9.99, it was okay. I have not seen it anywhere since.
