Does Lagunitas Brewing Company brew a bad beer?

I've never heard of this "overhopping" a beer... I think it's a wives tale.

 

Not a fan of their imperial stout.

 

While I am a big fan of their DayTime IPA I cannot decide if I like it more than Founders All Day IPA..........

No. Everything they put out is done to a very high standard. Few breweries could boast of a more successful line up. And Sucks rules!

 

I have not had a bad beer from them. Loved Sucks and Little sumpin.
I do notice that a lot of their hoppier beers taste the same, in a good way. Why is this? What kind of hops are used?

 

Tried brown sugga last night, its one or if not their best

 

I liked their Gueze way better than their Kriek. That wa probably the worst beer I've had by them. It wasn't really even that bad, it just didn't taste like a Kriek to me.

 

Stopped by a local beer store last night, and they just happened to have a Lagunitas rep pouring 6 or so different beers. Got to try a few that I haven't had before, and all were quite good (like most of their offerings I've had).

Unlike many folks in this thread, I've loved the cappuccino stout the couple times I've had it. It's actually one of my favorite coffee stouts. Maybe I just have different taste.

The two I've had that didn't do it for me are Hairy Eyeball and Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale. Both had an alcohol bite that I really didn't like.

 

Going to maybe be hated on this one, but I tried for the first time last year Cappuccino and really didn't like it! My dislike has been strong enough that I've been apprehensive to try any of their other offering. My buddy thought that last years release was lower quality than the previous year and perhaps this year is better. So maybe I should give them another shot.

 

Do it. They sell their beer cheap enough.

 

I thought thier Doppelweizen was disgusting.

 

That beer was epic. Best one they've made.

I keep hearing about this Daytime, will it ever reach TX?

 

WTF is pretty bad. I enjoy most everything else I have had from them.

 

I have yet to have a bad beer from them. They are a pretty damn solid brewery. Had two Brown Shuggas tonight and forget how great this beer is as it had been a long time since i had it last.
