Definitely not. Price only determines if I'll buy something again, as others have said. More expensive is surely not always better.

I try not to be influenced by price. I can see where price might influence ratings in two ways. First you have paid more for a beer and so you rate it higher and second you pay more for a beer, have higher expectations and rate it more critically. I try to rate the beer as a beer but I am probably not always 100% successful.

Half the time I don't even know how much the beer cost me. I can't think of a time where the price would influence my ratings. Price is more a reflection of scarcity or cost of production more than being Jesus in a bottle.

If a beer is on the edge for my overall rating, I might round it down if I overpaid for a beer which wasn't appreciably better than other beers at a lower price point. I think I did this recently with Maine Beer Co. Lunch. It's not something that regularly affects my ratings though.

    Yes and no.

In terms of repurchasing a beer, it absolutely has an effect. There's always and a time for a high quality and affordable daily drinker in virtually every style.

In terms of actual reviewing, I normally indicate the price paid in my review and if I feel it's particularly good or poor value, will make note of it in the overall section of a review.

As for having an impact on the ratings themselves, very unlikely unless I'm on the fence about an overall rating. Example, Beer A was really good and I don't know whether to give it a 4.25 or a 4.5 overall, all individual ratings for appearance, smell, taste and mouthfeel were either 4.25 or 4.5, if the value was good, I'm more likely to give it 4.5, if the value wasn't as good then a 4.25. That difference of a quarter point isn't going to have much if any impact on a beer with tens, hundred or thousands of review.

Price factors somewhat into my "overall" score, but only when something stands out. If a very cheap beer is very good or if I find an expensive beer to be a total waste of money, sure, that'll factor into my rating. Only a little, though.

Not at all. I may not buy a beer that I feel is too expensive, but once it is bought price is not a factor in rating.

yes price does affect my rating. Whenever I spend a decent amount of money on a beer and it doesn't live up to expectations the rating will take a bigger hit than if it was an affordable beer. It shouldn't and I should be better at rating just the beer itself, but its easy to let dissapointment overly affect ratings.

It shouldn't but I believe that it does for most people when they rate beer. You want to justify paying the high cost by believing it's a great product (even if it isn't). It can be subconscious, you don't even realize you're doing it.

No impact on rating. Rating is all about the beer for me.

A little part in the back of my mind thinks about this when I pay a high price for a beer, but i don't think it plays a part in my rating.
