Does proximity to a brewery affect your beer ratings?

    Not sure there is much significance from 0-2000, that's actually a pretty small spread, approximately 3.04 to 3.29. But the fact that the highest category is the 2000+ category probably means something.

    Since I tend to not bother drinking Imperial Stouts (and if I do, they're automatically aged by me), I took them out of the equation.

    I actually quite agree with you. I love midwest beers, particularly Founders and Surly. Didn't mean to start a shitstorm with my initial post and I'm sorry you took offense. I could have backed off on the amount of douchey comments in my posts as well. Cheers.

    Sometimes I think I'm drinking a rarer brew when its from a brewery far away but overall it doesn't effect my rating. Just because sonething is "rare" or harder to get in your area doeasnt mean its good

    No. I don't care if the brewery is a few miles or thousands of miles away. I will rate a beer based on the beer, not how close it is to me.
