It's you. You're supposed to shake up your beer first in order to prevent the bottom half tasting different than the top half.

Don't like a tinny flavor. A woody flavor is more desirable.....gooorn. *Makes reference probably no one will understand*

Are you referencing Gorn from ST:TOS?
Edit: Nope, can't believe I missed a Python reference...well done, ol' chap!

I've found difference vessels can affect the taste, either because the material might make contact with the tongue or possible if they're washed in different ways. A metal goblet usually is washed by hand, glass in a dishwasher. Maybe different cleaning soaps may affect it? Just spit-balling.

Just a guess but an aluminum vessel might more "aluminumy" than tinny? J/K
Okay.. well to answer your question, YES! Recommend you get the best glassware you can.

taste is also very perceptive. coffee drank out of a white mug is perceived as being more bitter than coffee out of a black mug. the other thing to remember is that you also smell a beer so you could also trick your nose with the aluminum. the vessel could have some taste associated with it as well to throw things off.
