    So, the wife and I are going to be doing a road trip from Chicago to Montreal and Quebec City in January. During the Friday of the week we'll be up there, I may be able to go from Quebec City in the morning to Vermont, and then back up to Montreal that night.

    I point out that this will be a Friday because I know that can be crucial in terms of what is available when.

    I was thinking of doing this:

    Quebec -> Hill Farmstead, shooting to arrive at about 11:00 a.m.

    Hill Farmstead -> Stowe to try to find some Heady Topper and have a late lunch.

    Stowe -> Beverage Warehouse in Winooski to try to find some Lawson's and other local stuff.

    Winooski -> Montreal.

    Does this look feasible? Am I biting off more than I can chew? I would certainly appreciate any input.

    Thanks!

    IMO, instead of Stowe, pass right on by and head to Waterbury. Have lunch at Prohibition Pig or the Reservoir. Bonus: either/both will have Heady, some HF, and maybe some Lawsons on draught. Between those two establishments is a bottle shop, Craft Beer Cellar, that may have some on hand to take home (and other local goodies).

    I'd like to tell you to head to Montpelier if you have the time, because Three Penny Taproom is my favorite bar in VT. They most certainly will have a bunch of HF and a couple of Lawsons on.

    One thing to be very wary of is the weather. Be very careful if snow is in the forecast.

    Not sure you factored in wait time at the border. On a Friday, southbound is longer than northbound.

    Your car better have on a good set of boots. Leave early and stay flexible.

    Making it to the bevi in time to get Lawsons might be tight. If not the, Bevi has lots to offer and tends to get "rarer" stuff in on Fridays. Also be sure to check the customs rules on how much alcohol you can bring into Canada. I think their is a old thread on it in this forum

    Better yet, buy as much as you can and bury it somewhere where it can be retrieved after leaving Canada- and only share the location with us, for we can be trusted.
