    Hi all,

I am in the midst of re-locating from Prague, Czech Republic, to Chicago and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any dog friendly craft beer spots in the city? I have been living in Prague the past 5 years and have gotten very used to being able to bring my dog with me to any pubs, restaurants, etc. they are basically allowed everywhere out here. Was wondering if there are any good places with decent craft beer tap lists that are dog friendly in Chicago city?
Thanks in advance! Greatly appreciated! Cheers!

First off, welcome to Chicago! It's a great city, so hope you enjoy it here.

Second, in terms of dog-friendly places, I'm no expert (my dog is an asshole, so I typically can't take her places that may have other dogs), but I know that places in Lakeview/Roscoe Village like Bitter Pops (beer shop and taproom) and Four Treys (bar) are good choices (you can actually take your dog inside both places). Since my knowledge is spotty, here are a couple lists courtesy of Google:

A lot of these places are only going to allow the dog outside on a patio (so won't be super helpful until probably April or May, when it starts to heat up, but hopefully this gives you a start.

@SeanBond great! thank you so much! I'm really really looking forward to living in Chicago, the times I have been to visit previously, although very brief, were great. This is really helpful, thanks a lot. Excited to learn that Bitter Pops is dog friendly as I've heard a lot of great things about that place and hoping to live somewhere around that area actually. (seems I am trying to determine where to live based on where beer is.... lol) Thanks again!

I live not too far from there; it's a nice, chill area, and there's lots of good beer around (especially for a few miles of Lincoln Ave.). The whole area is pretty dog-friendly, because everyone in the neighborhood seems to have a dog or two (and a kid in a stroller). There's also a good amount of vet support around there, if that matters (and an emergency clinic in case your dog likes to get into chocolate like mine does).

I've had the exact opposite experience in Chicago, places always refused to serve my dog...won't even let him take his limit to go. In their defense, if I licked myself in public I'd probably get thrown out too...

Welcome to Chicago! Hopewell Brewing and Empirical Brewery both have dog friendly taprooms so those are year-round options. In addition to the lists @SeanBond posted above, Bar on Buena has a dog-friendly patio and a great beer selection. Lockdown in Ukrainian Village is a good spot for burgers with a decent craft selection and dog friendly patio. The staff is super friendly and loves dogs too. It's also close to Sportsman's Club, EZ Inn, Happy Village and Innertown Pub, all dog-friendly places on the other lists.

    Welcome to Chicago!

I saw dogs in Begyle and they had water dishes out for them, so I would add that to your list.

    Lagunitas is dog friendly.

Even the employees bring their dogs to work.

Thank you everyone! This is really great and helpful! And seems like there will be plenty of options
This was my first post on the forum after lurking for a bit, and everyone has been super nice, I hope to be more active on here once I arrive in the Chicago area. Thanks again.

Clark Street Ale House in River North. Although I have seen dogs thrown out for bad behavior.
