Other than children and pets, you really don't get to name family members.

Congratulations on naming your first dog all by yourself.
Naming a dog, or a child, to me has always been a very personal thing. Italways comes from some sort of organic place.
I can't imagine soliciting names on multiple internet forums.
You are adopting the dog. Doesn't she already have a name? Why do you want change it and confuse her anymore than need be?
If you must change her name, Spend some time with her and find something that fits. Don't try and force a beer related name onto her.

Damn- lighten up. He isn't asking us to name his first born. I actually remember a few old threads about dog names that were pretty fun. No need to be so serious.

How do you know the adoption agency didn't just give the dog a new name? If the dog was a stray or came from another agency...

As for the request, he's simply asking for ideas not for anyone else to name the dog for him. Someone's idea might trigger something "organic" for him.

Just because you feel your way is better than his doesn't make you right. To each their own.

My adopted male cat (of 2 months old) was given the name Panchetta by the agency. That sounded a little girly to me, so I decided that I'd name him after my favorite snack food, Pretzel.
I'm pretty sure I didn't do too much damage by renaming him, as he seems pretty happy to have a new home...

Anyways, inspiration can come from whatever, whether it's food or input from a fellow BA.

Although beer related I don't think Raging Bitch or Old Brown Dog would be appropriate  If she's a German Shepherd, I would think Reinheitsgebot would be a bit tedious to pronounce, but there are other good German beer related names. Keller, Bock, Rauch, Roggen, Weiss... the list goes on. If the puppy were a boy you could have went with Uncle Dunkel .
