I see that Dogfish Head 120 is available on tap nearby and I was considering bringing my growler in for a fill. However, I already have 2 bottles that I am sitting on. Normally, I go for tap beer whenever I can, but I wasn't sure if a beer like Dogfish Head 120 would be markedly different on tap since I am having a hard time imagining any additional "release" of flavor from the fill. I'll add that, at $21 for 32 oz., it is a relatively low price for that beer.

    Does anyone have any thoughts?

The issue with a 32 oz growler is you have to drink it quickly. I don't know many people that could drink all of a 32 oz growler of 120 minute. If you have someone to split it with, go for it.

Sounds awesome. If I were near somewhere that would do 120min on tap I would fill a growler for sure!

I'm gettting old because 32oz's of 120min does not sound appealing to me at (assumably) one sitting. Unless I had several buddies over, I couldn't do it.
    Great price though.

Go for it. It's amazing on tap. On tap you get a crisp, fully hopped 120. Age the bottles

really? it's 2 beers..albeit very strong beers, but still very doable. Man up, have a hearty breakfast and pop er open early afternoon on Sunday; who knows it might make the Pro Bowl watchable?

    Doesn't matter. Both are undrinkable.

If they have WW stout on tap also have them make you a Heaven & Hell (120 mixed with WW obviously) you won't regret it. Had some recently at Maloneys and it was outstanding.

With big hop beers the fresher the better so go fill the growler and if they do not have a CO2 system to properly fill the growler drink it in 2 or three days. Fill it Friday and then don't leave your house for the next couple of days.

Not a fan of it on tap. I've had aged bottles of it that were pretty good. Age those bottles and you won't regret it.

I wonder how 120 would be if you got the growler and just let it go flat. Anyone have experience with flat 120? With its high alcohol, would it still be a nice sipper without carbonation?

On tap you definitely get more of the actual hop presence that I've never really gotten from the bottle. 32 oz. is doable over a weekend.

That's been my experience, too. Out of the bottle, I almost get no hops at all as they're covered up by the sweetness. On tap, it had a nice, hoppy aroma.

Also, I aged a few bottles for no more than probably 2.5 years and didn't think it changed much at all. Worth doing, but I would try to give them more time to see if anything noticeably different happens.

It's hoppy cough syrup IMHO. Can you just buy a small serving to drink on premises?

I have always preferred it on tap than in the bottle also but that may be because I had it fresh at the brewpub in Rehoboth or at the Brewery in Milton. And just because it's on tap doesn't mean it's fresh though so who knows how long that keg has been sitting around.
Personally, 32oz of 120 would be tough to get through, no matter how much testosterone is flowing through your body. It's a really sweet beer and not really meant to be consumed in large quantities.
32oz. Of 120 Is approx. 50% abv total, so finding someone to drink it with and sampling another beer or 2 with it will make it a lot more enjoyable IMO.

Definitely hoppier on tap but I actually thought it tasted worse the one time I had it. Tasted like liquid pinesol.

For sure it's the strangest IPA out there.

It is 2 pints. Thats almost 3 12 oz bottles. But by all means, go for it. I have mixed it a tap takeover with 61 minute and thought it was really good.
