You know I can seriously agree with your overall statement. A lot of what they do is just not my thing. I can really appreciate the 60 in my old age but years ago I was like WTF. 90 is great, love the 120 and WWS for sure. Palo-say no more and the Punkin is about the only commercial version I buy. The ancient ales really do nothing for me and and the music series is ok overall. I will certainly give them kuddos for what and how they think but I just tend to see vanilla and chocolate in the long run.

I'm always trying to get more of that beer. Last years tastes really nice right now though...

This was pretty good. It definitely feels like a big beer. Lot of tart cherry and chocolate. If you keep it to half a glass it's worth it as a dessert beer.

Pennsylvania Tuxedo was awful though. I LOVED the original brewpub version of this (4.7%, easy drinking pale with a little spruce), but this was just pine sol.

What will make people upset here is that if this was just hops instead of spruce, this new 8.5% version would have been off the charts good. The spruce is THAT prominent that if it was hops people would be going nuts over this. It's basically a wet hop imperial pale ale with spruce instead of hops.

LOVE Olde School! Just had a year-old bottle and it was great. One left..:slight_frown:
The brewery said they aren't making it this year.

Had this yesterday and enjoyed it..kinda smells like a sour, but tastes more like a porter..nice amount of chocolate and cherry flavor in this and the alcohol is very well hidden..one of the better DFH beers I've had

Had on draft yesterday, was incredible, immediately called every beer store on the block (shout out to Thomas at WF Tribeca, you da man!) and got me a 4 pack, will drink one now, save the rest for down the road.

Wow..I had a bottle and thought it was waaaayyy too sweet (bordering on the ever-popular "cloying"). One of the very few beers I've ever thought was too sweet. Oh well, to each his/her own. But I do love Olde School and World Wide Stout!

How many 17%+ beers with adjuncts have you had that weren't sweet, kind of goes with the territory. Almost every big Bruery beer, Dogfish head etc. All those guys, once you reach 16-17% it's kind of the way it is. Not very shocking..

Nope...but as I said, I generally love those types of beers including WW Stout. Just didn't care for this one.

It is a lot of spruce. I had the higher new ABV version at the brewpub over the summer and I don't remember it being so over the top. I kind of like it as a novelty but I won't buy more.

Higher Math just started showing up in central MD last week (Thanksgiving week). Got 1 bottle for $10.99 standard price at most places just like the WWS, D'Extra and 120 Min.
