couldn’t find a thread in searches. Is DFH American beauty, which is now in 6 packs, still seasonal or will it be year round?

I was pretty pumped when I saw it in six packs then even more when I saw the much more manageable abv. I remember the original one being great but I feel like it was like 9%. I think my local place should be getting it in soon.
I saw it in Little Falls yesterday. I meant to pick up a six pack but forgot to go back and get in. I will pick some up this weekend.
I tried it and was very underwhelmed. Not worth the 6pack price. Find a single and let me know if I'm off here. PS: I'm a big DFH fan as well, but this IPA wasn't worth the inflated cost.
My review: A decent malty pale ale/IPA (whatever you want to call it), however the hops are pretty muted in both aroma and taste and the grain/malty notes arent as pronounced either. A good standard pale ale but not sure why the cost is so high.
I wonder if royalties to the dead played a part in costing a little more? I would guess in some way they have to give them something. I bet the label alone caused more people to buy this than had it just been regular old DFH label.
not familiar with the label, but if it had the bears, skull and roses or the thirteen point lightening bolt, those are all registered trademarks. Lord knows I have enough crap with those on them, mostly shirts.
The six pack holder has the bears, the band name and the Steal Your Face skull, so yeah, I'm sure there was/is a licensing agreement.
That makes sense. Didn't think about the royalty markup. I think that seems pretty typical as I've seen higher costs for the Iron Maiden, Metallica, G&R, Motorhead, Megadeth beer labels I've seen used as well by brewers.
Keith, I had a draft pint a few weeks ago. I thought it was good but not a beer that I would go out of my way for. Based upon this one drinking experience I have no desire to purchase a 6-pack. If you decide to try this beer I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on this beer. Cheers!
Jack, you and I seem pretty much on point here (you had on draft/I had from bottle, but pretty much same review notes).
