So I stumbled upon this creation in a forum earlier today when I was browsing on my phone. So I don't remember where it was. But essentially, it explained that it was 120min IPA on the bottom and WWS on the top. Somebody also said that they don't behave as a typical Black and Tan that stays separated. Rather the two mix together.

Needless to say, I am very intrigued by this combo. So I have some questions to ask:

Has anybody had this behemoth of a drink?
    If so...
    was it a good drink?
did your black and tan stay separated, or did it mix?
would it be something you recommend for a birthday drink? (Mine is in 5 days)

    General Question:
With regards to keeping the drinks separated, the stout on top needs to be less dense than the ipa on the bottom. So would pouring the ipa first at a very low temp (say 38 degrees) then adding the stout by pouring over a spoon at a room temp (say 72 degrees) increase the odds of keeping the two drinks separated?

    Any input would help. Thanks!

Bourbon is effective at getting you drunk and tasting delicious.

Had it on draft back in early August and it was ver good. Not sure which was poured on bottom or top, but not sure if it really matters either.

I had it on tap in November and it was better than the sum of its parts. The bartender couldn't keep them separated, so t was just a blend of the 120 and WWS, but it worked. Enjoy.

I had 2oz of Heaven & Hell with the 120 being run through a whole leaf hop Randall and the WWS through an espresso bean Randall at EBF a couple years ago. I don't remember if they stayed separated or not, just that it was awesome.

I've poured this amazing brew many a time... Golden elixer on the bottom, darkness on top...

I made one last month. I just mix them like with all black and tans. Never saw a need to keep them separated. Might as well just keep them in two separate glasses if you're gonna do that.

It was quite delicious, but mainly intoxicating. 24 ounces of 18% ABV is quite powerful.

Falls tap house served it a bit back. My wife had one. Disgusting. I loved the 120 and hated the WWS, too sweet . Mixed together the WWS took over and I hated it, wife liked it. There was no seperation of the two when mixed.

    Enjoy

I've had Heaven and Hell on tap and from bottles. It always mixed when I've had it. I do like it a lot though.

Made it from bottles about a month ago. I couldn't keep the layers separate. Either way, I definitely prefer it to either beer alone

Agreed - same result and same opinion. I did half of each bottle for the black and tan and then enjoyed the remainders separately.

I've had a small amount of them combined before and thought it was pretty good. One of these days I'll have to try it with full bottles mixed together to see how it is. I'm sure I'll probably like it!

Well I'm doing this for my b'day. All 24 ounces in an enormous IKEA snifter. I'm going to try my temp hypothesis to see if I can keep them separated. If they mix, it won't make for a good pic, but it should still taste good. I will update come Tuesday.

A waste of a WWS in my opinion, but definitely fun to try. We split them into two glasses, one of them stayed divided for a little while before mixing.
