Remember though that the first show wasn't cancelled because it was boring, it was cancelled because of pressure from big beer threatening to pull ads. If anything, this one should last longer if they're not talking about beer as much.

I am not a fan of most of his beers, but love his attitudes about beer. He is a beer advocate. I hope he keeps up the good work and I will keep trying his beers.

Winner: Post of the Day. Thanks for the laugh; jealous I didn't think of it first.

I read it more as criticism of the average network sitcom - though it's my thought too so maybe I'm just reading it that way. I would hate to see it be Everybody Loves Raymond + Beer. Marino hasn't done that in the past, but if it's a pitch to a network about a family, I'm having a hard time seeing what else it could be.

While it's nice to have a big bogeyman that one can blame for everything, I don't think you can really reduce things down so easily.

Regardless, good luck to everyone involved in the new endeavor.

Sam is close friends with Ken Marino? Very nice.

Love Childrens Hospital, Party Down, Burning Love, etc. Plus, Marino's a frequent contributor to the greatest podcast in existence, Comedy Bang Bang.

I'd rather watch a reality show about DFH than a sitcom.

Nope. It was cancelled because the ratings sucked. No more, no less.

It's on Fox, so even if it's good, it'll be canceled after the first year. Especially if Joss Whedon writes any episodes....

With Ken Marino on board I'm sure it'll be at least somewhat funny, but I'd be much more excited if it was for Adult Swim, FX or IFC rather than a network sitcom.

I'm not so sure this is something worth supporting. I really enjoy the quiet, unassuming aspects of craft beer, not the dramatization. The craft beer bubble CAN burst. I hope we are not all making the mistake of thinking the industry is infallible due to two decades of extreme success. I thank Sam for his contributions, but lets not get ahead of ourselves!

If that's true that sucks, but I remember some grumblings on Twitter about BMC pulling ad revenue.
Of course, nobody knows for sure except the people involved, and they sure ain't talking.

Have to agree. To have any shot at making it with "the masses" it can't focus on the beer, which will likely cause most of us to be disappointed. Here's hoping they can pull it off, though.

I'm excited for this show, if only to see often Sam's Slint t-shirt is featured.

Well, the only thing Fox hasn't fucked up is The Simpsons. They make both baseball and NASCAR almost unwatchable, I'd have better hopes if it were on a different network.
