    Right, because a phone call is appropriate for legal things that need a paper trail.

    It seems like anytime Pizza Boy comes up in these forums, it's for them being a jackass about something.

    no shit. Sam writes a friendly note (or at least a professional one that wasn't terribly threatening) and Al calls him out for "not having balls."

    Sounds like a real mouthbreather. I'll pass on Pizza Boy beers from here on, thanks.

    I love Al's brews but agree he likes to go after others so I have to side with dogfish.

    He didn't help his cause by publishing that, especially with the obnoxious dollar signs after every line, but I can't really disagree with anything in that one. He's pretty much just laying out the situation honestly. He does sound like a childish jackass in the other one though. Dogfish head (and any other company, for that matter) have no choice but to defend their trademarks or they will mean nothing.

    Sam is nothing but nurturing and supportive to other craft brewers. Whatever you think about his beers, you cannot deny his passion for small scale brewing and mentoring. He's always one of the voices preaching solidarity in the craft world. He handled this much better than most would. He could take this to court and bankrupt Pizza Boy if he wanted to, but that obviously wasn't his first choice. I hope it is his second....

    He's putting it out there because he knows he'll probably win the PR war. People don't get that trademarks are a part of doing business, start raging at the brewery protecting theirs, Pizza Boy gets all kinds of sympathy.

    Dude, just work something out. How about you call him? Is that hard?
