I was updating my Beer folder on my computer, and I noticed that my Dogfish Head release schedule was last year's, now outdated, schedule. I checked their release schedule for 2014, and they have Raison D'extra down for December! I didn't think I would see this one on shelves, but it might happen now.

I've never specifically sought it out, but my local has tons of cellared D'extra. Have you had it new/aged? What do you think?

Oh? I've actually never had it. Whenever I go back to Kentucky, I can usually find Olde School, Worldwide, & 120 minute (when they're released), but I have never seen Raison D'extra. And.. of course it's illegal in Georgia because of the 14% abv cap.

Yeah my place has cellared versions of all of those and I haven't yet tried any! I figure it's probably perfect for learning about cellaring changes. I think their D'extras are 2005-2007...WWs are 2009...and I don't remember the Olde School dates.

I don't think that they have bottled d'Extra for several years. 07 may have been the last. Nice to see it coming back. Don't see WWS on that list though.

I have a few bottles of 2007 d'extra left. Opened one last year and it was fantastic, holding up great. Looking to open another one this year. I am excited to see they are bringing it back.

The last batch of WWS, bottled on 11/11/13, hit the shelves in December-January. It will not be made this year. I've got plenty of the last batch, so hit me up if you want to trade!

I believe the last Raison D'Extra bottling was in 3/2007.

No wonder my local has a lot cellared up then! Cause if they exist, they're cellared.

I know your local - forgot the name but it's just outside Davis Square in Somerville right? I saw the D'extra there for ~$20? Despite my love for the regular Raison D'etre (I even brew a clone of it myself) - I'm not too psyched to drop that much on what might be a 7 year old miss - so glad to hear an update is coming!

I think my friend in Chicago has some for me, but if not I'll let you know. We're not responsible enough in Ohio to buy beer with an abv that high.

D'Extra is holding up amazing. Had one a few months back (2007 batch) and it was delicious. If this truly is a rerelease, bring it on!

Bummer on the ABV restriction, but still - you're not being closed out of too many beers!

That's true! While there are a handful of great beers that are above 14%, there are even more that are under the percentage cap. I usually stock up on 120 minute, Worldwide, Olde School, and other delicious, strong beers when I go back home over the holidays.

This isn't accurate. There was a batch bottled in January 2014 that showed up on shelves a month or two ago.

I wish we had some vintage Raison D'extra on the shelves around here.

Tell me about it. The only 'vintage' bottles in my current town are old bottles of once fresh beers that no one has purchased.

I can also testify to the deliciousness of this beer. I had one from 2007 about a year ago, and just like the trader said before, it was incredible. I have only 1 left and I will be cracking it open before the hot Summer season starts.

The last time I had one was about a year ago. Tastied freaking delicious.
