Any reputable store in MD should have them. I know Wine Source does. I'm not sure how many to grab, especially due to $$$. I want to try it fresh, but I pretty much can't drink any of their high ABV stuff fresh, since it is always too hot for me.

It's bottle conditioned. If it's cellared/refrigerated properly, give me some.

So all bottle conditioned IPAs, when cellared properly, are ageable?

I had a 2006 this summer, easily one of those best beers I've ever had. Just picked up a single bottle of the new batch, not sure if I can hold out 8 years though!

went to a few stores and got 11 of these (i was feeling charitable and left some behind at each store). had my first last night. it's pretty amazing, but it's just too hot to drink right now. it's the same alcohol taste that a fresh bottle of world wide stout has. though after a few ounces you do get used to it and the flavors underneath really come out. haven't had anything like this before. looking forward to trying the next one a year from now.

Wine World in Abingdon, MD had it over the weekend. They also had Olde School. The odd part was the Raison was out on a shelf to grab but the Olde School was behind the counter and you had to ask for it.

my local place i usually go to (which was by FAR the cheapest place to get a bottle of BCBS) was selling single bottles of d'extra for $16.99. i think whoever controls such things was very very confused when they made that price.

you bought ELEVEN bottles of Extra. But you are so nice and charitable that you left some behind.

Oh dear leader, thank you for the leftovers!

Here the Olde School was plentiful, I got a case. The Rasion de Extra was behind the counter $12 max two. At that price don't buy more.

I can drink one in a mini vertical with my last 2007 and save the other for a fairly long time.

Of course. Aging doesn't mean it will improve, but it will damn sure change.

Back to d'Extra, I've got one in the fridge to consume soon-ish and one in the closet ermm.... cellar

I got some in Maryland in the heavily taxed Montgomery County for $8.99/bottle. I thought that was an absolute steal (given the area) so got 4.

Good pricing on Stone, Heavy Seas and DFH in MoCo (MD). Everything else seems to have inflated prices especially in Bethesda/Rockville. It's possibly the most over-regulated county in the country: http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/dlc/

It's been on the shelves here in Jersey for at least a couple weeks. Usually $8.99. I cracked open a 2006 on Christmas Day and it drank like a smooth port wine and the alcohol was present but extremely drinkable. Based on this one I personally would not cellar it longer. This was just too good.

If anyone is interested in trying some '07's, let me know... I have quite a few and would be up for trading some for something new.
