A few of my buddies and I are going to do a blind pumpkin tasting and I'm looking for some recommendations. We're looking for different Pumpkin brews from different regions of the country.

We have several East and Midwest, but need some recommendations for west coast. So far we have ST Pumking, Schlafly, DFH Punkin, and a few others. Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

You should try to get Good Gourd, East coast isn't properly represented without it.

I believe you have access to Smuttynose and Weyerbacher, correct?

If not,I would grab their pumpkin ales.

Capt.Lawrence is also bottling a pumpkin this year, although I haven't had it yet.

    Heavy Seas is another choice.

    Cheers and Enjoy..........

Elysian has three- Night Owl which is their standard Pumpkin Ale, Great Pumpkin which is the Imperial and Dark o' the moon which is a pumpkin stout. They take the style very seriously and have a pumpkin harvest event annually. All would be great in your tasting.

Honestly, toss in Shipyard's Pumpkinhead. See if you can pick it out of the crowd.

Elysian Night Owl, Dark o the night, and Great Pumpkin ale. All are good IMHO. I'm planning my own tasting with these along with Upslope Pumpkin Ale, DFH, and Shipyard. I'm pretty sure who's finishing last!

Seeing you're from Ohio, you should add Hoppin' Frog Frog's Hollow Double Pumpkin, it's good and just started to hit shelves..

I just bought one and didn't know it was from last year. Don't think I would have bought it if I had known. Guess we will see how it is.

Ithaca just announced a new pumpkin that should be out soon. It's super local, but I'm also a big fan of Horseheads Pumpkin ale.
