I'm not a big fan of guava, but I am a catador member so I get this bottle. What's the trade value??? Chocolate rain? Abraxas? Gingerbread stout? More, less?? Anyone trade this lately?? Any help would be appreciated.

You don't see the Catador bottles being offered nor asked for much on the trading forums, but there's no reason it shouldn't be able to fetch those beers you're ISO. Throw something up on board and see what sticks?

    I don't think you'll land a CR, but probably 1 of the other 2

I don't see why that would be the case. Choc Rain is far more common than it used to be.

Your logic isnt very sound. Anyways, chocolate rain is more expensive and much better.

Taste is largely subjective, and the price can always be mitigated in other beers. Both require being part of a membership to obtain, albeit one of them (the CR) can be had in larger quantities. DG, as far as I know, is only limited to 2 per member. There were only so many Catador memberships, even less for those out of state. Perhaps there's quite a few of us in the beer community who'd like to try what Cigar City's barrel treatment program has to offer, and wouldn't mind giving up a CR for it?

    Perhaps bro.

Why settle for chocolate rain though?

Yes, taste is subjective. But when you have local FL drinkers rating it in the 3's, then you know there must be a reason why.

i think as more and more bottles get picked up and people drink these, the hype will start to pick up on these beers. i tried illumintating the path friday while down there and wow it was one of my favorite BA beer that is not a stout. if all the beers from the EC membership are like this,k i cant wait to try the other ones.

ihope the logic of other people wanting to try these works when i want to trade for some backyard bramble in the next few weeks lol .

The way I'm hearing it, we should be getting some, though it will be a real hunt in locating them in bottle shops.

probably because more than 500 of the local matador members have no business drinking craft beer. most joined simply because "craft beer is in now" and they want to get in on those sweet sweet pumpkin beers...in reality, its slightly sour, and most new craft beer drinkers were probably unpleasantly surprised by that.

You two in the same tasting group?

OP, you should really squeeze harder for more. You even have chardlogic trying to boost value for you.

Why yes, all of FL can just be lumped together in one massive group of tasters/cronies. Never mind the hundreds of miles distance and millions population.

Love it though, often times the guys who were vying for a spot on El C. Club, now cry sour grapes in the months after.
