Unless you have snobbery issues with not buying from Walmart, these options are way more cost effective ways to get established in quality craft beer drinking glassware. Made in America and very good quality/durability. Won't break in dishwasher as easily as the more fragile and 3x the price options out there...

The hard cider 6 pack for $17 is my recommendation. Can't beat that assortment of glassware. I already have sank over $50 in glasses so I missed the boat on these but my wife has 24 of the stemmed glasses for special dinner occassions (didn't realize til Thanksgiving we had these). Thought I'd help others save a few bucks, to be able to buy more quality beer.

I got the Libbey beer glassware variety pack as a gift a couple years ago. Very high quality for the price. The tulip shattered, but we'll just say it was not the glass' fault, haha. The "stout glass" which is the shape of a Stella Artois chalice, chipped on the base with a fairly benign clank into a different glass, with higher quality glassware that may not have happened. But the rest have held up nicely, and I use the "British Pint" and "Craft Pint" glasses all the time. I would definitely recommend this set for the price

Check you local bottle shops too as sometimes they have good prices on certain seasonal glasses. Picked up 2 of these pumking and 2 warlock glasses for $2.99 ea. I may overpay for my beer but my glasses, not so much.

I like having my nice beer glass. For a one time cost how much is $7.99 really?

And as long as you're not reckless, it should last awhile!

I have the Libbey Craft Brews 6-glass set, and now I have two of their half-yard glasses. They make great stuff, I've only ever broken one of their pint glasses and that was not the glass' fault.
Most of my other glassware is from truebeer.com

Ha. My ex girlfriend gave me this set for Christmas 2 years ago. I only used them a few times, seemed nice enough but would have preferred if all pieces were stemmed. Unfortunately I left them at her place and we haven't spoken in about 9 months. They are among the things I still want back...

Good looking out. About to purchase the 8 piece "hard cider" 16oz snifter set for $15. Sweet deal.

I don't own anything besides pint glasses and I think I'll be okay. Either it's my nose or the type of glass just doesn't make a world of difference to me. I don't care how it looks. If I'm with anyone else though, they give me a snifter or teku

Go take them back. What better time than Christmas for a reunion (with the glasses not the ex)!

Has anyone mentioned pubglasses.com? I think BA still has a link to the company's website. I ordered plain (no design) glassware from that site about seven years ago and all of it is still in great condition after little, correction, lots of usage. Cheap, S/H wasn't much, and it only took a couple of days to arrive. Even with the S/H charge, you'll save money compared to what most stores sell, especially since they usually sell in bulk (good for tube socks, not for hefeweizen glasses).

Dude this a hobby and if I want to drop $10 on a glass i like that's not snobbery.

Do you only wear blank colored tee shirts? Sometimes I want a cool design doesn't mean I am some kinda of snob.

I will say the hard cider glasses are a good buy buy but I don't want a cabinet full of blank glassware.

Just attend beer events. You get them for free! I have two Sam Adams glasses, two BCBS Snifters and two Guiness pint glasses all from going to my local beer stores when they had reps in or the BCBS release event. Only beer glass I bought is my Pilsner/wheat glass and that was to support my closest local brewery

To each his own. There's plenty of us that drive across town or even out of state to find those 'elite' beers, and truth be told, we also pay entirely way too much for them. The only difference is the glassware I plan on keeping a long time, whereas the beer will get consumed and dispensed out my tip into the toilet. The glassware is a keeper.

I'm not knocking buying inexpensive glassware, b/c it does serve the same purpose and its just as durable as the more $$$ stuff, if not more so. Just keep in mind there's a large part of the BA community that has no problem shelling out some dough on expensive beers, and if I'm gonna pay $10/beer or $20+ for a barrel aged bomber, I'm one who feels my glass game needs to also be on point.

    Cheers!

Dollar tree has tulip glasses for ...wel a dollar. Nice glasses. Better quality than some of the paper thin glass wear with a brewery logo on it for $6 - $9 ....granted I do like brewery specific glasses but I enjoy being able to use a nice but cheap glass and not worry if it breaks or not for $1.

I collect brewery glasses, to the point they're coming outta the rafters! I have some favorites for drinking, and will often match the beer with the glass. I prefer shaker pints (unpopular here on BA) and mugs, but for the occasional Belgian it's a Chimay chalice.

You may still be able to get blank Teku glasses from B United for about $7 a pop.

If saving money is your goal, I highly recommend perusing the glasses at your local thrift shops.

    Stemware bargains galore.

This. I have four piece sets of several glassware styles that are almost entirely from thrift stores. Usually the glassware is $1 unless it is something "fancy" (like a snifter), in which case it might be $2. Snifters, tulips, pilsners, and wheat beer glasses are generally plentiful. Other styles, like dimpled mugs, stange glasses, and goblets, are much rarer in my experience. YMMV.

I usually pick up a couple of glasses from each brewery I hit...it's kind of nice pouring their beer in their glass. Makes for good conversation too...I also put them on my Christmas list and just received four DFH glasses from my son!
