Doom & Double Trouble

DT is good, but not at all worth the price some of you have mentioned. It's worth $9.99/4 at best. Doom sounds like nothing more than hype, and I'm not buying into it. I'm guessing this is the latest trend. Breweries putting out new beers with high price tags in order to make one think its much better. BA reviews ultimately reveal the truth.

 

Had Doom on tap yesterday and really enjoyed it. Bought a bottle as well but for only $12.99. $19.99 is some price gouging I'm not sure I would support

 

Burton Baton and Hop Crisis are both excellent beers that make me very eager to try this. I don't know whether the addition of bourbon will make it better or worse than those beers, but I'm definitely intrigued. I also expect it will be well over $20 here.

 

Double Trouble hasn't hit Long Island however, right?

 

Doom is an incredible beer, it is not a fad or hype, the barrel aging adds a whole other level of depth to DT, $11.99 in NH but still worth $15-$18

 

Bought 7 bottles of Doom today at 7 different stores and the prices varied between $12.99 and $14.49 plus tax. The $12.99 was at a huge liquor store that always has the cheapest price. $20 seems pretty excessive.

 

Damn buddy you must really like this beer!

 

I enjoy Double Trouble so much, that I won't even bother with Doom.

 

Don't know, I have never had it. I will let you know in about 2 hours. Going to take 1 out with a buddy tonight. Are you looking for any? We still have that pending IP trade.

 

I got myself a single bottle to try so it's good- probably open it up tomorrow or Thursday night with a buddy. BTW if you got the stuff in that we were talking about then shoot me a BM and we'll get this moving!

 

I just had DOOM on tap at Founders tonight and it was really good. But a 4 pack of DT gets my vote. Glad I tried Doom though. I didn't get much bourbon, only vanilla oak. But Looking Glass is better.

 

Can't speak on Doom but I paid $14 for DT and it was totally worth it!

 

Doom isn't just hype IMO, it's a really well done beer balancing both aspects. I feel a lot of the barrel complexities come out due to the lighter body and you really taste coconut / vanilla / oak flavors along with some bourbon and the dipa base. This beer is easily worth the $13-16 price tag I've seen.

Between this beer and Dayman beers do not have to sound like they'll work...however they will in really tasty ways. Both these beers (IPA w/ coffee, and a BBA dipa) are extremely good but the concept behind them sounds like it may not work too well.

 

I think doom is worth the 20 quite a great beer. 20 is quite pricey. way better than what I would expect from a BA IPA. I have yet to try double trouble... can not wait til next week.

 

Per Nappi Dist. out here (case price divided by 12) Doom was 9 and change per a bottle. If you're (as in the shop owner) charging $19.99 for it.... well then that's just a dick thing to do. Granted the base cost may be different for other states.

 

I'll pay 20 one time...double trouble is on sale now, get it! It's damn good, similar to hop slam, same honey sweetness, love it.! Great blend.

 

Forgive me as I might be a little behind on this... but is Double Trouble easily accessible or does it sell out in minutes like Doom?

To they BA that gave me shit for calling Doom shit before I tried it, well I've tried it and its beneath shit.

 

This beer sucks. I haven't had it yet.
