Stores almost always market a product at double the wholesale price. If the low end of Doom in stores is $13.00 I'd bet the wholesale, from distributor to store, is somewhere around $6.50.

100% markup from wholesale to retail is definitely not standard.

More like wishful thinking that a retailer could get away with that markup.... at least from the retailers standpoint.

Double Trouble $9.99 per 4pk in southern Vermont and Doom came and went at $12.19 a bottle.

    Drink Heady! :grinning:

But seriously, if you have never had it and you can get it for $9.99, then it's worth a try.

Not specifically, but I know most, if not all, Binny's will be getting a case or 2. I would guess Marcey and SL might see more? Good hunting!

I never thought the combination would work, either -- but then I had NoDa Brewing's NoDaRyeZ'd aged in bourbon barrels. I'm now a believer that it at least can work, though I'm sure there are instances where it doesn't.

DFH Burton Baton also works. Not "bourbon" but rather "oak" aged. Nonetheless, impressive beer IMO.

just tried doom and i was very dissapointed. the only other oak aged ipa i have tried was the great divide one, and it was terrible. i was hoping that founders would save face for the beer style, but it tasted about the same as the great divide version. i must just not like barrel aged ipa. i was drawn to trying this beer because the base is double trouble, which is one of my favorite beers. i would never be able to tell the doom was derived from double trouble.
