Just a heads up everyeone...Hampton Falls Village Market on the seacoast in NH just got Founders Doom in today. When I was there earlier today there were still 6 - 8 bottles left!!! Happy hunting...
I'm interested to see how it plays out MSRP vs what it shows up in stores at (it was $22-25 per bottle for Bolt Cutter around here) - I'm expecting the worst.
Thankfully won a raffle to purchase Doom at the Beer Store in NH. Dropping by tomorrow to grab that. I may also check a few stores in the area that I'm not sure other people will check.
You needed to win a raffle to get a bottle? I know Bolt Cutter didn't exactly fly off the shelf at its price point around here. I'm a bit surprised a "barrel aged IPA" is garnering so much instant credibility. I just have a feeling this might hang around longer than the initial rush is suggesting. **Full disclosure: I bought a bottle, but I only bought one. I just can't imagine liking this so much I'll want multiples. I'm almost anticipating being underwhelmed
Yeah. Honestly, I imagine I'd be able to get it without a raffle, but the Beer Store in Nashua knew they were getting limited quantities and wanted to use that and any KBS they get in soon to reward their regular customers. So, I think you had to spend 9 dollars on product and you got one raffle ticket, and for 15 dollars in product you got one for each raffle (separate raffles for KBS and Doom). I figured I might as well. I'm not sure what to expect from a barrel-aged IPA, honestly. I just usually end up picking up at least two bottles of anything if I can. Most times, a friend will acquire the second bottle from me. Definitely won't be hunting for a second bottle of this, though.
Case n Keg in Meredith should have got a case today. Try cigarette city Seabrook, top shelf brews Hampton, hamptom falls village market, Gary's bev Portsmouth, and downtown discount bev Dover (all had deliveries yesterday)
I paid $11.99 at Gary's and it was definitely worth it, the barrel aging adds more complexity to Double Trouble, might wait on cracking my second bottle for awhile, its definitely got the malt bill to age and turn into something barrel aged barleywine-esque.
It's at Bert's Better Beers in Hooksett today. 13.99. I grabbed one for a friend. A distinct advantage of being a night shift worker is that I'm never stuck at work when the beer trucks arrive.
