Doom in NYC

Still had some at WF Chelsea as of 630 tonight. Also have Stone Enjoy By. Have to ask for both.

 

Notice any Stone IRS or Espresso IRS by any chance?

Cool thanks, co-worked picked up the Doom for me from there today and forgot ask about those.

 

Top Hops has Doom, $16/BTL - limit one/person.

They had IRS as well. Not sure on the price but Teddy doesn't price gouge.

 

I was wondering who cleared them out. They started selling on Friday, and had a bunch on Saturday when I was there.

None were left as of yesterday, I was going to grab two more.

 

I saw them Friday on two shelves - didn't get any. Went in Saturday and saw one shelf was cleared, and grabbed two from the other (which apparently the shelf-clearers had missed). There were still a couple left Sunday, but I guess they're gone now.

If anybody wants it, I have an extra bottle - drank one last night, wasn't too thrilled. Drop me a line.

 

I guess you live near me. They had KBS but sold BOTH CASES to one customer, or so I was told. They do get decent beers, but the management of the place could use some help. They announced on Friday they were selling Enjoy By, but when I went in they said they never got it. This is fairly typical of them.

 

Just got Doom and Enjoy By at WF Tribeca, FWIW. Not on shelves, of course. Think they still had a bunch left.

 

Nah, they didn't sell the cases - I was talking to Jonathan, one of the assistant managers - he was doling it out pack by pack. Somehow, though, the one he set aside for me disappeared. Oh well.

I agree that they need some help. That guy Gil, who I think is related to the owners, was around a lot, but he seems to have disappeared. Nobody there really knows anything about beer.

 

Saw it last night at Top Hops, 15.99. Decided on Dayman instead.

 

Gil is only in a few times a week now, generally in the morning/early afternoon. I dont know Jason - but Im pretty sure that is who came up when I was asking about the Enjoy By. I was also told that Victor does the ordering if I need anything to speak with him.

They never respond to FB or tweets, for the most part. They advertised Bronx Pale on FB fr $8.99 and are selling it for $9.99. I just wish they would get their act together, because they really do have potential to be a good shop. it really needs one dedicated person, who can also be there on evenings and weekends. I have even offered my services... ha ha.

 

Growler Station still has Doom if people are looking.

 

That place is a bit of a mess, I agree. They were kind enough to set aside some KBS for me, but basically thought they were getting significantly more than they got and seemed to be shocked at the demand. I was there yesterday and I might have snagged the last Doom. Looked like they were all out and I reached up to turn a label of another bottle and saw Doom sitting there hidden behind it. I asked someone there and they thought more might be coming, but yea, that's what I heard about KBS too.

 

Is anyone going to Draught 55 tonight for the Founders event?

 

They wont get more Doom, I am sure of it. So that means there are at least 3 of us who frequent the store. I was always curious if I was the only one who knew about it. We should get a bottle share one day this spring... maybe something in the park.

I hate to hog rare release beers, but I was pretty livid about the KBS fiasco, because I was tweeting them and FB'ing about it. No responses. Everytime I am there there is NO ONE present. So I grabbed 5 Dooms on Friday. 2 are going to Philly for IP trades, I drank one, and I am saving the other two.

 

I don't blame you. Took me 4-5 phone calls and 3 well-timed visits to get my KBS. And when I asked them to set some aside it was before I knew that the city in general was getting far less cases than last year. Place has great selection, and the prices are awesome for NYC, but it's such a free-for-all.

 

If you're looking for KBS I can help get you some, as long as you're willing to pay $10/bottle. No bottle limit though. I know a store in my neighborhood that has at least 4 - 4packs left as of yesterday.

 

I would do 2 at that price, since I missed it alltogether this year. If they still have it grab me 2 and I can meet up in Manhattan this week or next.

 

KBS '11 and Doom on tap this Thursday at The Gate in Brooklyn in anyone is interested. Gonna be a small pre-birthday party for me, so we'll be the assholes with the pizza and possibly cake outside.
