Anyone know of WF Bowery or Top Hops or any shop in that area still has Doom?

    Thanks.

Note that they are doing timed tappings.

    7:00 PM - Imperial Stout 2011
    8:00 PM - KBS 2011
9:00 PM - Doom (with an hour of Black Sabbath, evidently)

Top Hops had it last night, they didn't have it on the shelf or cooler. Give them a call, im sure they still have some.

I think you mean Thursday. Tomorrow isn't the event.

Thanks for the help, checked my local Best Yet (not Harlem) and they had a Bunch of Doom, Enjoy By and 1 Dayman left as of 7:40 am today. They're getting serious about their stock!

Picked up a bottle of Doom for $14.49 tonight. BA dipa is a difficult thing to get really excited about. Should ipas be barrel aged? I dunno.

I'll be at the Gate around 7:45 for the 8pm tapping. Wearing a white/purple button down plaid shirt. Constantly checking in to Untappd

KBS 2011 is on point at The Gate. $8 for a 12oz pour is also nice. Woo boozy!

KBS just kicked. Doom was really good on tap.

Didn't make it to The Gate tonight. Went to Barcade instead for some BCBS '08 and KBS. 3rd time I've had BCBS '08 on tap recently and it is drinking better than ever. Happy Bday and cheers.

All this KBS on draft all of a sudden makes me wonder if we're going to see a rash of KBS kegs popping up (though, one was a 2011). Where do these aged kegs of beers come from? A 2008 BCBS keg? Do the breweries just hold on to them and slowly leak them out?

Most likely the bar has a good relationship with Founder's (they tapped the first keg of 2013 Double Trouble in NYC).

Barcade held the keg back from the '08 release.

I was shocked at how good Double Trouble fresh was. Definitely the surprise of the night. Dirty Bastard '11 was drinking like a barleywine. KBS definitely loses something with age - barrel and vanilla notes seemed to disappear, with chocolate taking an overwhelming role ahead of the coffee. Doom was really nice but I think I prefer Double Trouble.

Point being, it's time to drink up on my '11 and '12 bottles of KBS?

What's the profile difference between Doom and DT? Does it just add an oakiness to the DT, or is the post-barrel dry hopping noticeable as well?
