    Doom was amazing.

The barrel definitely adds layers to DT. I always found DT to be a little too sweet for me but this get toned down a bit by the vanilla and oak notes, on that note - Founders bottled this at it's peak.

    Drink this now!

Do you have to talk to someone in Tribeca to get them? I've been in there a few times and their selection is decent, but always heard such incredible things from people. Have I been missing out on a hidden collection?

When they get super limited stuff they tend to keep it in the back. Just ask I guess. I shop there all the time because my office is a half block away, so I know the folks very well, but I think they will give you stuff if you ask for it. I know they had to move that way because people were coming in and buying anything limited out in one fell swoop and they wanted to stop the shelf-sweeping. They might not give you everything, it kind of depends on how much they get. I got a bottle of Cherry Rye but again, I spend thousands in there annually. They only got a case so they kind of held that for regular customers.

Aaron, the tall, slim, bearded guy, is one of the nicest and most well-informed, polite, and inquisitive cats in the NYC beer scene. He is leaving the store unfortunately, to head up the beer department at the midtown east location. Hope he can bring that store up to snuff with the Tribeca and Columbus locations, to say nothing of the Houston store. He'll be missed downtown.

Thats good to know. I've been going there for years (go to school by PATH) and usually pop the extra stop over in the city for groceries and what not. I've always poked around their beer but haven't bought a ton there. I'll have to ask the next time I'm in there for anything else they have. Shame when a prized beer guy leaves; thats always a sad day. Thanks for the information.

That's fantastic news. I work near the 57th St WF and have been pretty disappointed with the beer selection at that location (aside from the bottle of Cherry Rye I got there). I'd love for their beer department to expand.

Both Founders Doom and KBS '13 were tapped at Standings earlier today with relatively few folks around. Might still be on tap. Cheers.

Doom is on tap at Fourth Avenue Pub in Park Slope for a ridiculous $11/10oz serving. Had 3 Peekskill Simple Sours and then used my buy-back on it though and it was friggin delicious.

Doom was something like $7 or $8 for a 12oz pour at Standings last night during their happy hour.

Yeah it was $7 for 12oz at The Gate. I'm really surprised - Fourth Avenue Pub is generally really good with their prices. They has an awesome Founder's event a year or two ago where you got 5oz pours of CBS, KBS, FBS, and Double Trouble for like $12 or $15. I wonder if the distributor jacked up the price or something on them.

Yeah 4th Avenue Pub really sucks doesn't it... buying you a 4th drink for free...

    It's like second-sentence-you and first-sentence-you don't communicate.

Not complaining, it's my go to bar. Just wondering why the price is uncommonly high for this one beer.

Gil is working out of the office now, so I don't think you will see him in the store. I work out of the office on Long Island, but I'm often coordinating the limited releases into the store. If you are looking for something, shoot me a BM. The new releases are on the FB page (which is less than exact science when we got Stone Enjoy By a day later than expected).

And if you do get together a bottle share with the store regulars, let me know.
