Any signs of Doom showing up in Pittsburgh area?

I did see a case of Bolt Cutter at a distributor who was asking $299!

Where did you see the case of Bolt Cutter? Randy at the Shaler GE did not get it in and is not sure if they will even get it.

Saw the bolt cutter at a place in West Liberty, I was out of my normal area, but I can find the name if you are interested. $300 seemed steep, but I would be interested in 1 or 2 bottles if anyone is interested in splitting it up (that goes for Doom as well)

HA! I live near there and have been looking at that for months. $300 is crazy for that. I spoke to the owner a while ago and he said he's ok with letting it sit there until someone wants to buy it.

I don't think anyone knows who is getting it yet. Randy at Shaler isn't sure they're getting a case anymore, I'm on a wait list at Whole Foods Wexford in case they do. It's going to be on tap Wednesday morning at Piper's Pub for their Founders Breakfast Event at 8:30. I may go to that though I really don't feel like getting drunk at 8:30 in the morning and I'm rocking an awesome sinus infection that has stopped me from doing any Craft Beer Week festivities.

Thanks. I thought Bolt Cutter was just ok. If the same place gets Doom, ill grab the case and am willing to split some up..

I guess maybe $25/bottle is what it retailed for here when it came out. I would pay it to try 1 or 2, but not 12. Maybe if it is aging well it might be worth it. But that guy better unload those cases of Infinium, those are well past there drink by date.

I am always asking about stuff at that Whole Foods, no one ever offers to put my name on a list :slight_frown:

Well, if it makes you feel better, supposedly I was sixth on their list for KBS and no KBS did I get. So either the list meant nothing or I wasn't actually sixth. I guess I'll find out with Doom this week (I think?) because I was like, the second person who inquired about that one.

i was also on that kbs "list" at whole foods. it seemed to be a random notepad that was just laying around. i didnt receive a call. i too asked about doom and was added to a list. i guess well see if being on their list means anything.

True enough. Either way I'm expecting that place to be my one hope on Doom if for no other reason that I got lucky there with Bolt Cutter. Prospects seem nil everywhere else way everything seems to be falling.

Still no word about it from anyone I know or on here. Are we getting doom? Anyone check any of the GE's yet?

I haven't checked with recently, but when I went to GE Robinson the manager sounded slightly concerned about the prospect of another Founders Limited Release at the store. I'm assuming that we'll get it Tuesday.

There is no Doom in bottles for Pittsburgh. Start trying to trade.

I don't really care that we're not getting Doom, but it's disconcerting that Pittsburgh isn't getting a Backstage release. I wonder why this is.

I assume you know this as a fact and are not just making an assumption? Thats too bad, I thought this might be easier to pick up than KBS.

I heard things were a shitshow but I didn't know it was that bad. You know when you guys may be at least getting some Double Trouble or Hoptimum in sir?

Thanks for the heads up, decided to look around in Ohio and found the last bottle at one place. Seems like you work for or are involved/knowledgeable with distribution, so I appreciate your input on this thread.

Did I miss an interesting story? Problems with Founders distribution in our area?

Eh, basically I was shooting the shit with the gent at Whole Foods Wexford and he was saying word was a distributor he worked with did have something around 30 cases of Doom, but they also serviced about 600 locations so they had no idea how that was going to get resolved. I don't know if he was fudging those numbers or whatnot but it just sounded like any speculation on what location was getting anything was an effort in futility. Just another chase I'll see if I luck into.

Doesn't surprise me. Apparently that distributor has never even HEARD of Stone, so they must be completely incompetent, right?
