Didn't see a thread started for DC this year...Headed up from LeClaire Iowa at the end of next week. We have been there the past 3 or 4 years so we kind of know our way around for food and beer but i am always open to learning more and i would like some suggestions for bottle shops on the route. DC Food....Wild Tomato is a must for any BA and we will be hitting it up, Cookery, Wickman House (they usually have some New York beers since the current owners moved back from there and great food), shipwrecked (soso), Alexanders, Mojo Rosa's..........Anything else??? Bottle shops...Koepsels and Main St.......Anything else?? Door County Brewery any good? Any other suggestions......Egg Harbor Ale Fest worth the $40 price tag?? EnRoute Bottle Shops If we go up through Dubuque-Madison-Milwaukee-thenNorth...Anything that isn't far off the interstate that is worth hitting up?? Jenifer St Market (Madison)? I imagine Green Bay and Milwaukee have a good stop or 2?? If we go QC-Rockford-Beloit-Milwaukee-then North....Anything on that route? Any good wisky seasonals that i need to look out for? Anyone know of anywhere on either route that still has Wild Sour on the shelves? I here you can find some 3Floyd's and Bruery stuff at some shops in WI? Thanks lads and laddies
For DC I think the best place is Koepsel's farm market on 57 between Sister Bay and Bailey's Harbor. They have a great selection of beer at reasonable prices and you can buy them by the 6 pack or individual bottles for the same price. They carry pretty much every decent beer brewed in Central and Northern Wisconsin. A good one is Oso's Night Train.
Main Street Market in Egg Harbor tends to have a surprisingly great selection. Prices can be a bit steeper but in DC that's expected.
Best bottle shop in Green Bay is Ridgeview Liquor. Best place North of Milwaukee or Madison IMO. Chris the owner is awesome and usually there during the weekday. Entire staff is awesome. Just about any beer can be bought as a single.
up the road a bit past Ephraim is Summer Kitchen if you want really good food and great soup. we stop there a few times per summer just for lunch. Wood Orchard market should have Sweetango apples in this week as well. worth a check if you haven't had one. Ridgeview is your best bet in GB as OnWisconsin said. worth checking their facebook page to see what they are pouring for to-go growlers.
Allouez beer depot near Green Bay is a freaking mess but might be worth a stop to dig around for shelf turds, found 2010 north coast and older goose island beers that still tasted great
Ridgeview in Green Bay. My favorite shop in wisconsin after Discount. Super friendly staff and a great selection.
Yeah, I stopped in this place 3 or so times during our week in DC and was never disappointed. Prices aside, a fine place for beer, wine, and good food.
Was just in DC last weekend. Didn't really bother beer shopping, enjoyed a couple of restaurant beers (Hopdingers) but mostly hung out at the condo and drank everything we brought with us.
If you're going to hit Jennifer St Mkt in Madison, drive a mile inward and go to Star Liquor. They often have interesting bottles. You're also close to Woodmans East which will have the lowest prices (cash/debit/check only) and sometimes some oddballs things. Jenn St has a bunch of Bruery, and I picked up 3floyds (Alpha and Bruce) at HyVee (not far from those others) a cpl weeks ago. In Fish Creek, hit Luna Cafe for a shot of espresso - it's the coffee used in Hinterland Luna Stout and a cool little cafe. http://www.yelp.com/biz/luna-coffee-fish-creek

Thanks for all the input fellas! Last call for suggestions...(even though i will still prob keep checking on my phone when i am there!) Especially interested if anyone has seen Wild Sour on the shelves anywhere on my route. would love to get my hands on a little bit of that.
