I was curious to hear whether it's recommended to lay this one down, or break her open fresh. Why I ask is because of the (seeming) hop prominence in the beer. I'd appreciate any advice on this. Cheers.

We did a side by side and the unanimous consensus was fresh was best. I just remember the aged bottle having very muted flavors (not just faded hops). I'm a fan of doris but it doesn't see my cellar anymore.

I'll have to drink mine soon! Fresh was good, I hope it hasn't turned too much.

I really enjoyed it fresh. The hops were pretty much the star of the show. The underlying roast and chocolate was nice but merely a complement to the bouquet of hops. The bottle was only a few days old so it was REALLY fresh. If it were up to me I'd rather age a BA B.O.R.I.S as this one is definitely best fresh.

I'm not a fan of hoppy dark beers so I say age it.

Drink it now - if you decide you would like to set one down after having it fresh trade for another

If you've had it fresh before and didn't like the hop presence in it, put it away and wait around 6 months to open it again. Otherwise, if you haven't had it yet, open it.
