I came across some bottles of 2007 and 2009 Double Bastard today on a shelf. Thinking to pick up a few tomorrow, but anyone know how they drinking now? Any preference between the 2 in how they are currently drinking?

funny you mention it i decided to drink one of my 2010. it was pretty nice, the hops are still well present but the maltiness is coming in real nice. turning into a top notch barelywine for sure. id say attack both of those asap and get more. i have a feeling the 09 is drinking great. ill bet the 07 is quite nice as well, id love to hear your thoughts on em

I had an 08 about 6 months ago that was drinking great. Id pick them both up, and multiples if they had them.

I have had a few 07's over the last six months or so and they are fantastic. I would be hesitant to buy a bunch of them before you taste one of them. You never know how they have been stored. I made the mistake of buying a case of different vintages of Stone IRS from a small store and they were all bad. I say buy one and if it is as good as it should be then stock up.

Grab some! I have many years of DB going back. I'm finding that the 07's are aged just right at the moment and the 08's are close. The 09 isn't ready for sure. It tastes nice, but I promise if you lay that down for another year at least you won't be disappointed.

Yeah, I grabbed a few 07's. Had one last night. Pretty amazing nose. The flavor was Damn good. Plenty of malt, and some sweetness. There was just a touch of bitterness at the end. Still, it's drinking fantastically right now. I'm not sure one more year will do too much more.

I still prefer the 07 Old Guardian to this. Now THAT is drinking amazing.
