I've never had any DB that old, but did have some 08 on tap in October. It had a sweet caramel/toffee, candied raisin taste to it, with a nice piney hop, and slight citrus presence, and was still moderetly bitter. The booziness was still there, but it definitely mellowed out a bit. I feel like it was probably at, or close to it's peek but that's just my opinion.

Yep- someone brought it to a tasting. Carbonated, a bit hoppy, very nice malts, not too oxidised. It was a treat.

I had the 2010 last month and it just seemed pretty impenetrable and lacking in definition. Maybe my expectations were just too ridiculously high.

I found a couple '06 bottles in the back of the cellar and had one last week. I enjoyed it a lot more than when fresh, and slightly less than a year or so ago, when I had this vintage last. YMMV.

    cheers--

I had a not-aged 2011 one night and a 2009 the next night, and I enjoyed the stronger, more complex flavors of the 2011 more. The 2009 maybe was a little less hot, but it didn't have as much of those awesome flavors, i.e. the back-end pineapple flavors, as the fresh one.

I had a 2004 3L Bottle about 3 months ago. I thought it was amazing. Then I went to the brewery 2 weeks later and got it fresh from the tap. It had been far to long since I had it fresh, and wow. For me it was way better fresh. But still damn good at 7 years
