I've had this fresh and at 1 year (Not a lot of change with just 1 year). I have 1 bottle I found hidden in my cellar that is at 3 years (2009 Bottling). Any one have experience with this beer 3 years aged or more? Trying to decide if I should stuff it away or drink it.

I've had 2011, 2010, and 2008 (and fresh of course). I think it's perfect at the four year mark, but people may disagree. Haven't let it go any longer but I'm trying to let my 2009 sit another two years at least to see where it goes. You can actually still find 2009 and 2010 around my parts.

I'm curious to this as well. I don't care all that much for it fresh but I have an 09' and 10' in the cellar. I should be able to track down an 11' pretty easily. Is 12' out already? I don't really keep up on the Stone releases.

My stone cellar archives go way back, but only to 06 for the DB. Fresh, not so much. It is by far best tasting after aging! Like you said, one year not too much difference. The 09 is tasty but has a little bit of a rough edge still. 08 and later it starts getting epic as hell. Advice from a super stone geek is, since you have only one left open it up next year or later and it'll be worth waiting. I'm still trying to find the bottom on this beer for aging, seems to hold up great (06 still tasting epic and my fav). If you like stone brews and want to do a vertical or are looking for something from a specific year lemme know. Sure I can find something to trade with ya.
    Good tasting

oh every october is release month btw

Thanks brother, I immediately regret not stocking up on more of these releases. Putting this baby back in the cellar for a year or two more and it looks like I'll be grabbing a case this Oct.

What's your experience with aging the RIS? I have had it fresh plenty of times and it is incredible but the two times I have had it with 2-3 years on it it was phenomenal. Where do you find this baby peaking?

On the IRS I have had back to 05 and it tasted amazing still. Got lucky and found a crappy store that had 4 cases worth on their shelves a year ago. Closed down when I went back for more unfortunately. I've heard people say that the beer peaks, but whatever I haven't found the bottom on that one either.

I drank a 2004 magnum of Double Bastard last year in October for my Birthday, friends included. It was fucking amazing. I see this beer holding up for 10 years or more.

I just bought three bottles of 2007 from bottle works. that was after buying a 4th and drinking that one right there. It was delicious. So im gonna probably drink one in a few months, and then probably age another 2-3 years. So i suppose we will see!
