As of today, I'm finding 2012 Double Bastard on shelves in my local beer store. It's a fair price ($5.99) and I've read about this beer being ageable based on past vintages. Is it worth aging?...does it develop into anything worthwhile?...or will it waste space in my basement? Any input is helpful. Cheers!

For the love of all that is Founder's- please, PLEASE age some. I had some 2010 that I am just now drinking and it is incredible. That is all.

I said Founder's, but I meant Stone. Sorry, I've got Harvest on my mind. : )

My three bottles of 2009 won't be touched for at least another year. The 2008 I had a while back was awesome. I love when this beer comes out. Grab some of the Lukcy too, it's just as good and harder to come by.

Buy cases of it. Age some and drink some fresh. You won't regret.

Thanks for the advice. I'll have to stock a few then.

As for the Lukcy...fresh, age, or both?

I had an '03 awhile back and didn't think it aged well at all.

Nearly ten years is very different from three to four. I've yet to have many beers at ten years that were very good. Decent, but not good. An '03 is past it's prime by a few years.

Yes. It ages well. 1-3 years probably optimal. Also great fresh.

I have an extensive stone cellar.
I can 100% tell you that it ages amazingly for 6 years and then trails off fast. The difference between an 06 and 03 is great to crap. I love the hell out of this beer and have put the time in to figure this out. I can get more in depth if you need. Any other stone questions hit me up cause I have all their vintages going back a decade
