I agree 100%. Russian River does the best job here stateside. Beatification is real real good but it ain't lambic. It's a recent trend here but in Belgium there is a tradition blending and sour beers. The wonders of the Zenne river probably has something to do with too.

The Cask just tweeted this. Keykegs include 2008 Pannepot Reserva and Black Damnation X.

Was going to skip this but I might have to check it out.

I must start getting into twitter, seems to be the best way to find about this stuff. Plan on going to down to London just for this with a few other BAs. Wasn't able to get my Struise fix on the last trip to Belgium, so I'm very much looking forward to this!

Everyone agrees with you. There are a few that get somewhat close, but the expertise just isn't over here. I think a decade from now, when the first few pioneers have figured it out and there are lots of second-wave people doing spontaneous fermentation, we'll have caught up much more. But it'll take time, and we might not have someone of Armand's skill in my lifetime.

Correction- It's Westoek X (they also have the XX version) not Damnation X.

This makes me sad. Was hoping my trip to Belgium at the end of this month would net me some BD5.

Double Black won't be out for at least six more weeks, is what they replied to one of my FB messages.

This is sad news. However, you cannot rush perfection. I am still eagerly awaiting this.

In a way, that's good news. If they announced the release one week after I make a trip there, I would have a hard time justifying another trip so close (to the wife that is).
