I thought it was pretty awesome when I had it in the taproom, but wholeheartedly agree on skipping the bombers. And yes, I would love a growler of it!

Yes, I didn't mean to imply that I didn't like it. I thought it was very good but just not worth the price of a bomber. It's definitely worth stopping in for a snifter's worth.

That's definitely the way I read your comment. 100% agreed

I also used the word "worth" three times, so it's obvious I've been drinking

That's pretty much implied on this site. No matter the time of day.

    Serious question.

Wouldn't a 'double pale ale' essentially be an IPA, or even a DIPA?

Couldn't they still make an awesome profit margin at 9.99 or thereabout.

Yes. Double Day Tripper is a DIPA.

Why does every speciality or limited release need to cost mid teens right now? Just based on the style of some of the beers the raw materials required really don't justify the price. I see this one sitting awhile

You'll be able to find it on shelves two weeks from now.

16 bucks? So this beer must be twice as good as King Sue.

Nova just posted a release with "it starts again" right after the TG release. Um... Pretty sure there will be no mad rush at that price & widespread distribution. Nova will be sitting on it

Bought a 750ml. I also think $13 is too much for this beer. I really enjoy it though. Not a big DIPA fan but this one I think is great. I like them dank, and this is very dank. Somewhat similar to Toppling Goliath Twisted Galaxy which I find superior to King Sue. IMHO of course so don't get your panties in a bunch.

Twisted Galaxy is great, but its almost like fruit juice. So sweet.

King sue and Twisted Galaxy are two different beers, and it's unfair to put them in the same sentence.

Sure. But you'll pay the extra 3 bucks to have it rather than not. It's economics. They know that.

Finally had the opportunity to try this when a good friend brought over the 750 ml to my house tonight.
    Thanks Paul!

First of all, this tastes nothing like Day Tripper to me.
    Secondly, I'm very impressed.
    DANK - yes please!
The nose is even dank as hell.

That being said, I will stand by my first comment, earlier in this thread:
    "Won't even consider buying a single bomber, of DDT, when I can get 6 DT's for $9 - $10"

It is pretty damn good though - I have to give them credit for that.

I liked this beer. I had it on tap for $5 in a 10 oz glass. Not bad for a bar price. I won't buy a single bottle of this (in case you guys really care) because of the price. This beer should sell for around $7-8.

Edit: This beer will sell for $7-8 after it sits on shelves at the $13-16 price tag.

Please let me know if you see that.
This one just may be pretty good after a few months on it.

I passed this up over the weekend. Seemed high given I'd just payed $8 for KS and Sosus. Not saying it's any better or worse just saying I have a limit for IPAs! Maybe don't make the bottle so fancy?!

I'm pretty sure there is about $7-8 in gold in the foil. But i Haven't brought it to the Cash4Gold guys yet.
