I read in the release forum that Otter Creek/Lawson's Finest Collab was supposed to make its way to NJ using Otter Creek's distro channels. Knowing that they are Distro'd by Nash, High Grade and others, has anyone seen it yet in NJ? I'm afraid by the time it does make it out, it won't be fresh and not worth the money to try it out.

Anyone hear or see anything yet in NJ?

Same distributors as firestone walker correct? If this is true I fully expect this beer to have zero hop flavor and aroma when it touches the majority of NJ shelves.

the beer is awesome when it touched the shelves, and when i drink it. I am getting it at a variety of stores, just bought a four pack today, north jersey has it more than central (where i live and havent found it yet)

Nice and old. Bottling date is 9/20/13. Not their fault. Nash screwed everyone on this one.

A word to the wise. This beer is very good but VERY expensive. I paid $18.99 for a 4-pack in the burbs of NYC and after a quick check on BeerMenus, the best price I saw was only $1 or $2 less. The beer guy at one of my regular stores put it in my hands and told me to try it. He knows I'm a hop head but it's my fault for not asking the price. I would have just bought a single to say I had tried it.

Its a good beer, but def is pricey, I think the aroma is way better than the taste. Aroma is like Lawson's, but after that the beer is all OC :slight_frown:

Doesnt take much lol. Just look at the current status of firestone freshness in the majority of this state. I'm afraid to even order it on tap because of this. Hell I've heard that when they ship out "fresh" union jack to stores it can arrive 5 months past bottling date.

Anyways the double dose is dated 9/20. Why is it finally hitting some stores now? It's only coming from Vermont, was it held for over a month before being released? The distributors for this should understand and care more about their own product.

You realize the aroma is brewed by OC, right? Lawson's is not sitting there teaching OC how to aromaize then leaving at all points that pertain to taste

Yes, of course I do. to me the beer smelled like a Lawson's hoppy offering, but I would the taste lacking, esp at $5 a 12oz bottle. I was disappointing in the beer. It certainly a good IPA, but no where I expected it to be.

There are loads of great smelling IPAs that font deliver on flavor these days. Don't you find that? Mosaic IPAs in particular

It's just hitting stores now because the craft manager at Nash has been MIA for a month or so and there is no #2 to oversee details like this. If parabola comes out 3 months late who cares but a dank fresh dipa needs to leave the warehouse the same day it comes in. Props to my salesman for just saying the hell with it and finding a way to get some to my store 2 weeks ago.

    Nash is a trainwreck.

The sooner that distributor sells off to Peerless and Hunterdon the better.

Used to be the same way in Philly. Old ass Firestone Walker hoppy offerings sitting on the shelves. Until Philly Beer Week 2013 when me and and a bunch of other beer nerds let David Walker know in person about the status about these great beers just lingering around. (due to the distributor sitting on it). A bit of constructive criticism and some emails later reminding him led to a great change. I just picked up a 6 pack of Union Jack bottled 10-15-13 not to long ago, i was starting to lose hope, but now once again, Hoppy Firestone Walker is again a staple in my fridge.

I don't expect Walker or the other brewers to touchdown in Jersey for 'New Jersey Beer Week' anytime soon, so Emailing in a nice and semi constant manner may be your best bet. Good Luck.

True about the parabola. However firestone has great hoppy offerings that I would buy consistently over most other brands available (wookie, union jack, double jack). Good luck finding them under 6 months old even though.
