I saw it in Porter Square for $4.55/ bottle last night, limit 4. My local packie (Atlas) doesn't have it or have it out. Guess I'll have to do some more poking around.

Great beer had 1 four pack still can't justify price. 16.99 to 17.99. So over $4 a beer!

Really? Isn't this a pretty common rule? Several states seem to have it.

It has nothing to do with conspiracy against consumer. If it was allowed - to sell below cost - big stores (or chain stores) would drive smaller ones out of business by using popular products as a loss leader just to draw the customers in. Similar to what Target and Wallmart have done to Toys R Us with their toy pricing. One of the examples in recently memory. Or what McDonalds and Starbucks are known to have done in the past to the small local burger and coffee shops.

This is considered and unfair trade practice and is illegal in every industry. There's no need to dictate this in an alcohol law, and there no reason small businesses should be given more protections in the alcohol industry than in other industries.

I don't think so. But even if it is, it's hardly enforced. I'm always struck by the advertisements for cheap booze when I leave the nanny republic of MA.

I see a ton of uniformity in booze pricing in MA that I don't see in other places - which not surprisingly have better pricing.

Have you ever seen the "conspicuously displayed" list of minimum consumer prices? I haven't...

I thought it wasn't prohibited in all industries. I could be wrong though.

Definitely no place to get a burger or coffee in Mass. besides the chains.

was it sarcasm or attempt to contribute something meaningful?

I wasn't referring to Mass. in particular. Starbucks is known to have employed predatory practices in order to drive the competition - local and small - out of business. McDonalds is "guilty" of the same.

$4.99 a single and I was happy to try it. Hell I might go back for one more.

$5/bottle at Bert's in Hooksett. 2 bottle limit.

I was ok with paying that for the novelty. It was pretty good, too.

Paid 10.99/ 4 pack last night. No limit but didn't want to be too greedy, I did buy 2.

I was far too fatigued after a very long day to do a proper review, but the beer is excellent. I Thought it was awfully close go a perfect balance of new school citrus, but still floral and bitter enough to not taste like oj.

Nope. Another example of the MA booze industry (distro & retailers) picking & choosing laws to hide behind...which enable them immensely.
