Hahaha, I'm in Massachusetts too and I paid nine bucks more than you did!

    Celebrate diversity, I guess.

I believe this section refers to wholesaler/producer (if self distributed) prices to retailers. The list of minimum resale forms the "beverage journal", which gets mailed to stores at the beginning of each month. This law is followed.

So bust out your copy at Blanchard's and tell us the cost. If it's not in there, just tell us anyway. At least we can determine if accounts are working or a similar margin to their other craft beers.

I indicated earlier that the cost was higher than the MSRP. I'm at home now, but the cost through the distributor was over $14 per 4-pack. These kinds of items everyone from the same distributor is paying the same cost, but i can't speak about whether the costs vary by distributor or state to retailers. Probably though.

I think the Vermont BA guys should pool some cash so the Mass guys can get back the 3 or 4 dollars they were extorted - and hopefully end this thread.

I think the Vermont BA guys should have their own forum & circle jerk themselves with rare/overpriced beer.

CT has minimum pricing on booze (but not beer, I don't believe) and I've never seen anything sold below that. AND, prices across the board are less in MA. I know because I stock up on my bourbon when I pass through Mass. So you're wrong on both of your last points. In CT's comparison at least.

Sorry, CT has Happy Hour. CT wins.

The breweries were not impressed with some of the retail pricing as well, if they do it again maybe it will all stay in VT to keep the pricing more consistent. Better solution, discuss.

Except for the fact that the minimum prices are not "conspicuously displayed ... where they can be readily inspected by consumers." I've bought a lot of beer, and looked for lots of prices, and I've never seen this list in any store.

In this case, the on-/off-premise retailer is probably considered to be the "consumer."

How would that keep the pricing more consistent?

Is that part of the Special Brotherhood of Groovy Vermonters Code?

Nope, it just seems like most Vt retailers respect the wishes of the brewers.

$16.99/4-pack in Delaware at a store that consistently has the cheapest prices in the area.

Paid $4.99 for a bottle. People who were comparing it to heady and DS are outside their mind. Decent IPA, but not worth this 1 bottle, high priced, allocation. Won't be buying again.

Probably wouldn't buy it at $20/4pk. Saw it at my local bar, and figured it was worth a try for a $5 draft. I've had very average IPA's on draft for that price. While this beer wasn't the best one I've ever had, it was exceptionally good...so I was very happy I tried it!

I paid $21 for a 4 pack in downtown Boston because I'm a sucker. Thought it was a good beer but not nearly good enough to come close to a $20 price tag. Fresh Sculpin and fresh Flower Power are just as good, if not better, and significantly cheaper. This would be competitive at $12-$14 a 4 pack, which apparently is what OC intended; anything above that is just stupid.

Surely OC has to be upset that their MA distributors fucked over retailers and consumers, no?
