Agreed. I gave DD and DW both around a 4.4, Enjoy By a 4.1. Pretty amazing job beating out a highly sought after beer.

Split a bottle of DD and EB with my brother last Sunday, and we both preferred EB over DD. For what it's worth.

Never had double dose but just outstanding is one of the most overrated beers I've ever had. Seem to be a lot who agree with me on this. So many shelf ipas that are better, Enjoy by is way better.

Double Dose is really good. Definitely better. It's been a while since I have had any Alpine but the best hoppy beers in the country are coming out of The Green Mountain State.

It's pretty cool when a beer that's produced in mass quantities and distributed to both coasts can compete with beers from small, out of the way breweries.

Yeah, but it is also cool that the little brewery with limited resources can compete with the bottomless stack of money stone now has access to.

You' ve been a member here since May. Perhaps after another six months you'll come to the realization that the ratings don't mean a whole heck of a lot.

Haven't had it but I think we are splitting hairs too much rating beer. Really there are only 4 categories...awful, average, great, and f'in awesome!

Every beer fits into these tiers.

I think Enjoy By is a phenomenal beer, especially the September and May editions. Double Dose was good, but I didn't think it was anywhere close to the same level.

Something along these lines for me... I remember liking enjoy by back in March or so but as of late I feel like I'm buying a bottle just to see if its the old beer I remember. It hasn't been. Double dose is a solid vermont/lawsons style ipa. +1 DD for me

Isn't it usually the case that product from the little breweries are the ones that get the most hype? There's something about the human condition that causes us to take the easy access stuff for granted.

Was given a Double Dose last weekend. Like all Lawson' s beers - overrated. Not even in the same stratosphere as Heady Topper, Enjoy by (from 6 mos ago, recent ones not so much) & many other DIPAs IMO.
