I'll be "that guy" to say DD isn't worth it at $4-5 per bottle over the years. Drink something else.

Valid point, considering the 4-6 $8 bud lights at fenway that are consumed each game $17-$18 a four pack is much less of a financial burden.

It's the same thing every year though, this beer get's brewed, half the people don't like it as much as the year before and the other half say it's too much of a rip off. Womp Womp.

I didn't think it was good last year as the year before, but I have no idea if that was my palate changing or the beer. That said 17-18 dollars for a four pack isn't crazy to me, my problem is a store local to me gets it and puts it out at 10 dollars a bottle...

In addition to the price, the fact that I have other highly touted IPAs in my fridge, including Sip, makes it hard for me to go out of my way to seek this out. I mean if I find myself at a bottle shop, I'm going to look for it, but I'm not going to go to a bottle shop with the sole purpose of finding Double Dose.

(slow clap for having Sip and "highly touted IPAs" in your fridge, I guess?)

You can't buy Sip in MA so that's a bad comparison. I've had many Lawsons beers and have access to Trillium whenever I want it. DD is still a good beer. Has that Lawsons buttery smoothness.

You'll pay $8 for 25oz of Fort Point, or $12 for DDH fort point but not $8 for 24 oz of DD? That's fine but again, a silly comparison. It's all, just, like people's opinions, man.

I bought the last four pack. Guy said they only got one case. $16 per.

And it seems near 100% of those people are still hunting it down the next year.

Yeah shit or get off the pot. Leave some for the rest of us who enjoy it and don't mind the price. It might not be as good as HT or SOS or any hard to get IPA in New England but if I don't have to drive 3 hours and wait in line I don't care if it's a littler pricier than it should be.

I mind the price but I may buy some more just to spite all you people. May even pour one down the drain.

LOL - My intention wasn't to try and shit on yours or anyone else's cereal. Like I said, I want to try Double Dose, but not to the extent where I'm chasing it. The chase is more of an issue than the price, but the price doesn't help.

sweeter than i like - and I don't mean fruity - more malty or carmel. My next beer is a Second Fiddle - and Double Dose as a set up will make the Fiddle even better.

I think the DD is a slightly boozy as well

A bit boozy and much more bitter than it needs to be, IMO. Just kills the initial juiciness. Batch 1>Batch 2>Batch 3

Did in fact find 2 bottles near home @ $4.20 each. This is limited enough that I chalk it up to getting an $8 bomber but at least have 2 separate servings...

It is different than the first 2 years. Of place it closer to backseat berner than the first years. I still think it's better than last year. 1>3>2

Just to shit on this beer some more, I had this back to back with a Treehouse Alter Ego and it was not even in the same league. Don't feel bad if you missed it.

I enjoyed the Double Dose I got my hands on. I have to say it lived up to the hype for me. I didn't do any back to back comparisons but I would put it a step above any "regular" IPA/IIPA I have found in stores as of late. I don't think it is fair to compare this to the TH/Trillium stuff, they are on another level.
Glad I got to try it and will seek it out next year if they do it again.
