Problem is, with that many beers in a blind taste test, unless you cleanse your palate after each beer you try, chances are the results will not be accurate. Hell, I've had Sucks as a 1st beer and as a 2nd or 3rd beer [with another IPA or two as my 1st or 2nd beer] without palate cleansing and the Sucks tastes completely different.

This. Last night I had a GF West coast ipa and then a 32 of Sucks...seemed to be missing on the aroma and taste. But I took a whiff of the bottle today and it smells amazing even now.

Yeah. Just like Zombie Dust is a pale ale.

Do a blind tasting and see if you can pick out the beer that uses hop extract.
Also, Pliny the Elder uses hop extract, which you rated a 5, so maybe hop extract isn't the reason you seem dislike Hop Stoopid.

Not sure Hop Stoopid should have been in this lineup. It kind of advertises itself as "Hey, our brewers went nuts with all of you saying beers weren't hoppy enough. So, they gave you this. Pretty sure it's basically like eating a grapefruit and pine needle paté on a cracker. Enjoy." (Obviously they tried to balance everything better than that description, but it's still presented as a complete hop-bomb. Feels like the others on the list aren't widely-regarded in that manner.)

DD is ridiculously good, but as someone else mentioned...it was a one time thing I believe, right? At least for now? So anything you drink now is getting a bit old. I was lucky enough to be in Vermont the week it was released and man, it was fucking amazing.

Disagree...I think the fact that it also says Otter Creek balances out the fact that it says Lawsons when it comes to the bias that you're referring to. I didn't have particularly high hopes for it...I didnt even know about it before I stumbled across it on vacation in VT, but I was wowed by it (and this is during the same week where I practically bathed in Hill Farmstead). So much orange in that beer...must have been a shitload of Amarillo. I had a 4pack of it and got in twice on draft during that week and loved it each time.

as a whole I guess I agree (never had Whoop Pass), but isn't Sucks kind of thought of as a hop bomb, or close to it? Green Bullet and Double Jack are borderline too

Good point, I honestly didn't know that PtE was hop extract as well. Maybe it's just the "cheapness" that makes me dislike HS, not the contents. Also, when I had Pliny was at the very beginning of my real jump into craft, so I'm not sure if I would "5" it now. I feel like I've had many better ones since then.

Totally agree with your point that your palate will be wrecked. You either need to space out your time between tastings or just do one or two at a time.

On an unrelated note, I just had Bengali Tiger from Sixpoint. Awesome IPA that I think is up there in quality w/ Sucks and Double Jack. I know that might sound like heresy, but just goes to show that good beer can be found everywhere.
