Yup, me too. I've been through 2 cases and mostly just myself drinking them. I loved Hoptimum this year, I hope it's as good next year. For some reason I didn't care for last years....funny.

I posted this in a different thread but it's worth reposting here:

    The 2 IPA commandments:
When an IPA is marked down, it usually means it's old.
When an IPA looks like a bargain, it usually means it sucks.

With Greenflash West Coast I would most likely say old, cause I've had that stuff fresh and it is a damn good beer. But Yes Otispdriftwood, good words to live by.

i'll second Myrcenary (Odells) and Ruination (Stone)... i'll also add Ninkasi's Tricerahops. Good stuff if you can find it. Sadly that and their Total Domination IPA have not been available in AZ for a while.

Never been impressed with Green Flash, and I love IPA's.

^^ This^^...I tried it a few times. And actually both are very good. But IIRC Tricerahops was a little cheaper and stronger (win win). But still both had a good all around taste.Sadly I can't find it in Nocal anymore either.

Surprised Hop Venom is yet to be mentioned.

at a pub last night had (some of)

a really fresh Double Jack last night
    Ballast's Dorado
    Stone 16th.

Double Jack won for me. Maybe because it was freshest, but it was for me the tastiest and definitely most 'nosey' (c)

The new Stone Enjoy By 9.21.12 IPA is really nice as well, and doesn't really have any pine notes to it.

Got some Founders Double Trouble last week, and even though it was old I still found it to be excellent!

I would look for Unearthly from Southern Tier.

How does it compare to their IPA and Pale Ale? Was not a fan of either of those offerings from Southern Tier.

Never had their Pale Ale. I do enjoy their IPA, but this has a differernt taste to it.

I found it to be a bit on the sweeter side.

I enjoy a Deviant Dales now and again since it's readily available now in Alabama. My favorite DIPA of late however is a growler of Bodhi from Columbus Brewing Company, but only when I'm in the central Ohio area. Hear it's going to be bottled soon. Outstanding!
